Depends on whether you weigh Xs and Os more than getting the talent to the school. Nobody does less with more than Coach K Coach K: 3 titles, 11 Final Fours Izzo: 1 title, 6 Final Fours Has Coach K had that significantly more talent than Izzo? Also, Duke gets a lot of McDonald's All-Americans to come because those players sign to Duke. There is not [expletive] way players like Ryan Kelly or Eric Boateng would be that highly rated without signing to Duke.
No Duke fans are expecting too much out of him. If Singler comes back, he should be only the fifth or sixth perimeter player (depending on how good Felix is). By all accounts, he has been the best shooter in practice this year. Granted that is all speculation and still just in practice, but he should be able to contribute. Again, he'll probably be the backup or 3rd option at point guard and the 3rd option at shooting guard, so he won't play a huge role on the team. We'll have much more perimeter depth next year than we have this year. I think Duke could be even better next year, if a lot of things go right. PG Irving/Smith/Curry/Thornton SG Smith/Dawkins/Curry SF Singler/Dawkins/Felix
Duke picked up a 6'6" SF JUCO transfer in Carrick Felix. Another piece to what could be a very good team with Felix, Kyrie Irving, Seth Curry, and Tyler Thornton all coming in.
KSU has by far the EASIEST road to the Final 4 of any of the 2's. The hardest game they have would be Syracuse. I'm not guaranteeing they make it, but it is by far the easiest road of the 2's. Baylor to the final four is my "bracket buster". Don't sleep on BYU
When did you start hating the ACC so much? I don't hate the ACC. I think they were weak this year and Va Tech shouldn't have been in. I'm not alone (obviously). I seem to recall you saying that only 5 teams in the ACC deserved a bid. Also, you were begging to get Duke and complaining that they were ahead of Syracuse and West Virginia, when Duke is number 1 in Pomeroy's and Sagarin's predictor rankings. EDIT: Also, the ACC is #1 is Pomeroy's conference rankings and #3 and Sagarin's.
13 seed seem about right for them? I don't know, looking at their resume, I think they could be ahead of anyone else at the bottom of the S-Curve. They have a couple of good wins (@UTEP, Utah St 2x) and only a couple of bad losses. I've got them ahead of Wofford and right behind Siena, Murray State, and Cornell which would put them as the 2nd 13 seed.
We'll have to some rearranging, because that would make Georgetown a 4. Illinois's going to go down here. I don't think I will move them on my curve. I have them behind Georgetown and Temple
