  1. Matt Holliday
  2. Yes, because of a rule change. The same rule change makes Soto eligible.
  3. This would be a nice time for a 3 run homer.
  4. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Other than Cedeno starting ahead of Theriot, of course.
  5. Dempster? :?
  6. Why were you eating with the enemy?
  7. Soto Pie Marmol Ramirez Soriano
  8. If I lived anywhere close to Chicago, I would totally buy some.
  9. Now, it is 5-2 and 8-0 (to tie). I am sticking by my prediction.
  10. I'll bet that he hits more than 2 homeruns in the next two games.
  11. Plus, it is a non-save situation, bring in Wuertz, Piggy, or Gallagher for this inning. I really do not understand this move.
  12. I think you mean Be well at baseball today :D
  13. Wow, I would have thought Cedeno to have got the shot. But apete got the lineup almost exactly right.
  14. I really like this lineup. I think DeRosa is perfect for the two-hole. Murton has hit Duke very well, much better than Floyd at least. Obviously, Soto being in the lineup is a good idea. I only thing I would change is Soto up to the number 5 spot and Murton in the number 6 spot. EDIT: I just realized that this is not the real lineup.
  15. i'd just go with NL Central: A Life Raft with a hole in it. Might want to change it to Brewers: a life raft repaired by the Stros. Consider it done.
  16. I think it may push certain players to play better. But those that have fragile mindsets, it may make the player try too hard, instead of just going out and playing baseball. I think the #1 example of this is Jacque Jones early in the season. I think JJ feels much more comfortable right now because he is playing almost every day lately and is playing much better.
  17. Normally I would agree that teams may catch on to a new pitcher. However, Hart has some legitimately nasty stuff. It is not so easy to figure out how to hit a cut fast ball coming 92-93 MPH with that much movement. Even if the other team puts the ball in play, they don't seem to be able to hit it that hard. I agree and think he will eventually be better than Marshall and Marquis. I just want to caution against expecting too much from him next year. In a couple of years he may be very good, but next year maybe a little rough.
  18. In last 8/9 games Cubs go: 0-8 Brewers to tie/win: 2-7/3-6 Cubs go: 1-7 Brewers to tie/win: 3-6/4-5 Cubs go: 2-6 Brewers to tie/win: 4-5/5-4 Cubs go: 3-5 Brewers to tie/win: 5-4/6-3 Cubs go: 4-4 Brewers to tie/win: 6-3/7-2 Cubs go: 5-3 Brewers to tie/win: 7-2/8-1 Cubs go: 6-2 Brewers to tie/win: 8-1/9-0 Cubs go: 7-1 Brewers to tie/win: 9-0/impossible Cubs go: 8-0 Brewers to tie/win: impossible I think we are heating up at the right time, so I am guessing we go 6-2 in our final 8 games. This would make it impossible for the Brewers to beat us without the one-game playoff, and to get to the one-game playoff they would have to go 8-1. Point is, I think we have this locked up.
  19. I doubt we will see Marshall traded if Hart becomes the fifth starter. Lou has talked all year about wanting a long relief option and Hart/Marshall would give him that option. Also, do not get to excited about Hart right now. I think that teams will start to learn how to hit him, and his ERA and WHIP will go up significantly next season.
  20. I like hip-hop but this is not too exciting
  21. I doubt we can clinch the division before we start the series. But my guess is that we will clinch after the first game of the Cincinnati series. That would help tremendously for the playoffs being able to rest Lilly and Zambrano for Game 1s and 2
