  1. bhwhahahhahahahahahah...good one. Actually there was an article on ESPN saying that a higher percentage of baseball teams made the playoffs in baseball since either 1998 or 2000. Also, the Patriots are going to win their 4th Super Bowl in like 8 years and baseball had a different champion every year from 2000-2006 with the Red Sox finally winning their 2nd this year to break the trend. The Patriots are an anonmoly. Everyone gets a piece of the pie on the NFL, and in theory any team has a legit shot to win it all regardless of their market size. This is simply not true in baseball.
  2. this gets better as I read it Wow, I didn't realize how much I agree with Hendry on stuff.(outside of the hard on for Theriot thing, and the Tracschal nonsense...)
  3. - Amen Jim =D> =D> =D> Great read
  4. The Lakers fans love Kwame Brown..and by love I mean absolutely HATE. He needs to be traded for Ben Wallace ASAP.
  5. bhwhahahhahahahahahah...good one.
  6. not even close. william eckert was inept. so was fay vincent. bowie kuhn was responsible for the curt flood lawsuit (reserve clause) and plenty of labor strife. kenesaw mountain landis did some good things, but was a racist who held back the integration of the game for 25 years. ha, as if Selig was devoid of ineptness.
  7. worst commissioner ever.
  8. I think some weight concerns have Dan Connor slipping a bit. http://www.canaltcm.com/myfiles/visto/roseanne.jpg
  9. how do you know the fairy isn't a crazy glue sniffer? "Building model airplanes" says the little fairy; well, we're not buying it. He sneaks into your house once, that's all it takes. The next thing you know, there's money missing off the dresser, and your daughter's knocked up. I seen it a hundred times
  10. I hate you  Woodson is uber talented, but a boom or bust pick, IMO. Factor in the Bears, and this adds up to a bust. I really like this kid Joe Flacco out of Delaware in the later rounds.... flacco hightligts
  11. it kind of is when you could get equal production for 10% of the cost by giving the job to gallagher. the lieber signing alone isn't going to break the cubs. it doesn't really improve them either. but you combine lieber's 3.5 million with dempster's 5 million, marquis' 6 million, eyre's 4 million, and blanco's 3 million that's around 21-22 million that could be easily replaced by cheaper players and spent on 1 or 2 very good players. jon lieber was a pointless signing. it wasn't a horrible signing that's going to cost the cubs the season, but it's jim hendry's usual pointless signing done for the sole purpose that he doesn't trust rookies to fill less-important jobs. How could you know that? You know, I could get a good look at a T-Bone steak by sticking my head up a bulls ass, but wouldn't you rather take the butcher's word?
  12. Well he is a top 3 pick in 2009 for sure, though I thought it was possible leading up to the draft a team could fall in love with him and he could go top 10.(this year)
  13. yeah, rivals.com has Oher going back now...
  14. Dag nab it..the whole Roberts fiasco forced me to avoid the transaction forum, so I compleltly missed on this until now... ](*,)
  15. I haven't seen a single mock that has McFadden going #1.
  16. Hey Big Ben with his 4 points and 3 rebounds..there is a leader for ya! I have seriously had it....bench/trade/release all the vets on this team and let the kids Noah and Thomas play..tank this season and get yourself a shot @ Rose/Gordon/Mayo. There is no point to trotting Wallace out there every night...WTF!
  17. LMAO, Bulls score 10 in the 3rd QTR. tonight...10 points
  18. I really don't think McFadden is 215..that being said.. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/img/08-06/0827peterson.jpg http://www.fncaa.com/images/mcfadden.jpg I mean really isn't it quite obvious that Peterson is sigficantly bigger?
  19. Or any NBA team, for that matter.
  20. I"m glad to see some of you guys coming around on Paxson :D BTW Agent 0 will opt out this summer, I wonder what excuses he will make for not going after him....
  21. Who? That is just insane..Peterson is a talent that comes around every 10 years or so..he is just has fast as McFadden but also is much bigger and can either run over you or around you. He would have been the #1 overall pick(and it appears he should have), but the injury concern had him drop. More than a few people compare the two favorably. Peterson is a great back, but McFadden is likely just as good. In fact, the argument could be made that McFadden is better because he's had success as one of two good options for his offense (along with Felix Jones). Peterson had the luxury of some level of a passing game while at Oklahoma. There's really little to support that Peterson is any better - much less significantly better - than McFadden. When Bill Polian scouted AD he stated that he probably could be the best RB of all time. Really it isn't even close AD > McFadden.
  22. Giants in the SuperBowl...doesn't Tiki Barber look like an arse.

  24. To make this deal work you would have to subtract either Dempster or Marquis and add in a decent minor leauge prospect. Consider the situation, you have an overpaid Padilla. Obviously Texas wouldn't mind getting out of this...but you are sending them 2 players that are also overpaid, and the combined contracts nearly add up to what they have already have...what incentive is there here for the Rangers?
