  1. Looks like Oladipo was held out mostly as a precaution after the ankle roll. That is the way I am choosing to look at it anyway. Sheehey a school record 9-9 from the floor. 2-5 at the FT line, go figure.
  2. Bought some. Sec 202. Row 5.
  3. I guess that was me?? All I said was that IU contributed to the situation. Illinois had a great comeback, credit goes to them.
  4. I think this is the first time all season that IU is listed as the underdog. IU has played like complete garbage recently at Ohio St, all blowout losses. Curious to see the approach against Thomas, he will get his points for sure.
  5. heh, indiana hits 52% of their threes and almost 50% of their total shots and misses one free throw. seems to me like you're trying to cheapen it just a bit. illinois wasn't without their mistakes in the game, either. I was referring to the final 3 minutes, not the first 37. Indiana did shoot well, and played more than good enough to win for 37 minutes. Not cheapening anything, but IU contributed to their own demise at the end of the game, that is all.
  6. On IU's last possession Crean was motioning something and I just assumed they were going to dribble over and call a timeout. It is obviously easy for me to sit back and critique, but I would have the ball in Ferrell's hands and let him get to the lane. Have Watford and Zeller down low, wasn't like Illinois had much size to combat it. Oladipo can do a lot, but ball handling isn't his best asset.
  7. I love Oladipo, but they recent hype has been over the top. Not sure where Vitale came up with the mini-Jordan stuff. I think he's great, but that is just absurd.
  8. Don't take this as a slam against Illinois, because they hit some big shots late and did what they needed to do to win. One of my questions with Crean is why not call a timeout towards the end just to calm the team down? There were several possessions in the last 3 minutes where IU seemed to be rushing shots, when there was absolutely no need to do so. The play with Hulls, wide open for 3, then tries to drive and misses a runner. He's better off shooting the three. Sheehey rushed a 3 when IU was up two from the corner with about 17 seconds left on the clock, no need to take that shot. IU played pretty stupid down the stretch. Again, credit to Illinois for doing what they needed to do. I just think IU made it easier for them to do so. Did any of you Illinois guys see it that way too?
  9. If you guys want some comedy, check out the whack jobs on the IU boards.
  10. Told you guys I wasn't confident. Be lying if I said I wasnt confident with about 3 minutes to go though.
  11. Wide open layup? Wow. Was that Zeller's man?
  12. He looked right at the dude (Griffey?) and screamed in his face. And it's not like that's the only celebratory thing he's done this game. He deserved the T. I saw the "whooo" just didn't know if there was more. Might cost him some #best6thman votes tonight.
  13. I'm on record as saying Sheehey can be a prick, but did he even say anything?
  14. I'm not sure what to expect tonight. Illinois is capable of playing well, but also capable of being pretty bad. I would have to think they would want to give a big effort with #1 coming to their home floor. As far as individual matchups go, I have a hard time finding one that doesn't favor Indiana. It has been a long time since IU has gone to Illinois and won, let alone blow them out. I think IU wins, but I expect Illinois to hang around.
  15. Is it reasonable in your opinion to expect to at minimum break even when the team is competitive?
  16. If they make the WS in 2015, for example, what's it worth to you to be there? You aren't helping the rational side of my brain, ha! Wonder how many people have bought them in their lifetime with that same thought in mind? Just hard for me also considering the fact I could only make 5-6 games a year personally, at best.
  17. Had made total peace with my decision to decline...and then the Cubs call me and suck me back in. Rationally I know I would take a decent loss next year and it is an obvious risk moving forward. Irrationally, I also know that if the Cubs become "good" soon I'll regret not doing it. Would be totally happy just getting to the break even point every year, just worried that isn't likely. Any advice?
  18. I don't think this should amount to much, just thought it was interesting. I was at the game and saw the reaction by Hulls, but no replay was ever shown on the scoreboard. I knew they were checking to see if it was a 3 point shot. Nothing else was made of it from what I saw. I would assume if Hulls thought he was hit on purpose him and or Crean would have made a bigger deal of it.
  19. This is gaining steam. Did Robinson punch Hulls? http://www.mobypicture.com/user/naptownwhat/view/14732759
  20. Chances the Illinois crowd/student section will be this lame and apathetic Thursday night?
  21. the prosecution rests Right, ok. What is that even based on? It was a dumb statement and I responded. I just don't understand the "fan" argument. IU has some awful fans, probably moreso than others due to their popularity and sense of entitlement. I get that. But there are also a lot of people who watched the complete train wreck of IU basketball for two straight years that are having a blast right now. With the exception of a few schools, most college programs would kill for the fan support IU gets. I don't think anyone expected in the span of 4 years to go from basically the worst D-1 team to one of the best. Crean is a spastic goof, I get that. He's an easy mark. Regardless, he has it working right now. Kids want to come to IU, and not just Indiana kids. Obviously the Indiana kids are key, all you have to do is look at how many didn't give IU a thought the past 8-10 years. Make fun of Crean all you want, but you can't deny he has engineered an impressive turnaround. I don't think IU wil win the Big10 at this point. Too many tough road games left. It's conceivable they may tie in some fashion, but in order to win it they will need to find a way to win at least 2 on the road against Ohio St, Minnesota, Mich St, and Michigan. This is all assuming they beat Illinois and win the rest at home. Anyway, the Oladipo show rolls on. Oladipo only allowed 4 points on 45 possessions while guarding 4 different players.
  22. Hell of an atmosphere provided by the worst fan base in America tonight. Can only dream how much more fun that would have been if IU had good fans. I love it.
  23. Time for the "Defense Lives Here" sign at Mackey to come down?
  24. Wife surprised me with tickets this morning, can't freaking wait.
  25. Hopefully Hammons averages 30ppg the rest of the year and leaves :D Very impressive. He needs help though.
