  1. It’s weird, in other sports this many opportunities to tie and what not would be considered a good game but in baseball this just feels like a damn mess
  2. This game is gonna set the record for in play balls on the outfield that just land fouls so I’m glad I tuned in for history
  3. Watching other teams improve while we stay stagnant isn’t putting us in a good position. That said a team that seemed to be iffy health wise and had some scheduling problems still tied for best NL record and if it means anything they seem more motivated. I could see a complete collapse or a very strong team. Tough to guage. I’m going with yes they’ll be under .500
  4. I’m not really anti shift or anything but I do enjoy watching guys cover ground to make a play or whatever over line drives hit directly at dudes because they’re positioned well. I’m not against shifts though because o never exactly like rules that prevent teams from exploiting deficiencies. If a batter is only successfull hitting to one side of the field and you defend to stop him that’s on the hitter in my eyes. Like in basketball when there’s talk of preventing the “hack a bad shooter” strategy. It’s on the player to improve their skills though I guess some of that logic can be applied to a defender participating in the shift as well
  5. It’s not good to have important games lasting until stupid times of the night on fall weekdays, well you can but I don’t see how it doesn’t hurt the games growth. It’s tough because changing baseballs rules is challenging even though the other major sports do it frequently. I don’t know if this is the answer but something does have to be done though I think going months of the offseason with no action from player movement is more harmful at the moment
  6. Sports fans are adverse to they’re team not having good players. How did we get brainwashed into this?
  7. Only other random ones I can think of that were cool were Alou/Sosa back to back to walk off the reds in 2004. Hollandsworth 9th inning homer in early April against the Braves I think, also in 2004 I believe. Baez against the White Sox to give in the lead in a 2016 game. Big Z in 2003 vs the Astros later in the season (I think I remember this correctly, maybe it wasn’t THAT memorable lol)E Edmonds grand slam in 2008 vs brewers to cap the sweep in that awesome four game series at Miller Park. I’m sure there’s more random regular season dongs I can think of and it’s possible some were covered but I ain’t going back through
  8. I actively hated Hundley and Estes other than that I can’t really think of a player I passionately despised. Rusch and Marquis I kinda knew what they were and other common targets were on bad teams so they were just bad players on bad teams. I think I kinda disliked Julian Tavares but I have no idea why
  9. Maybe I was overhyping what we had and we ended up sucking but I thought we had a shot. Interesting to know what type of team they’d be if everyone is healthy all year. I doubt they’re a playoff team next year and they’re the bulls so health will be an issue
  10. I hope building a winning culture or whatever is a meaningful thing because these wins are obviously pointless. I don’t watch much living out or state but I did watch the game vs Boston and they were so fluid on offense it was fun. If that’s the type of ball they’re building towards I’m optimistic
  11. I’m always mixed on the nl dh because pitcher PAs are generally awful they make successful pitcher PAs fun as hell. One of my favorite things in sports is pitcher dongs
  12. Is that a real quote because that’s an insane thing to say
  13. Hawks basically being last year’s Bulls. At least there’s some interest in the Winter Classic game now
  14. Big XII does it I know. And it feels odd. You already had a round robin tournament that should have decided the champion. I know why they play a championship. It just looks less tidy to me without divisions
  15. A title game with no divisions looks odd structurally to me
  16. Cubs are the only stupid team I can rely on in my sports fandom here and you jerks are ruining it
  17. Beltre is great and I’m sad he’s done
  18. So if The Citadel wins somehow does Bama still make the playoffs
  19. Nate Stanley is a weird dude
  20. Are we good maybe?
