  1. I'm not sure why they aren't best of 5
  2. That sucks. I guess playing an Eastern Conference team letting them get the second point won't hurt too much.
  3. Both teams deserve two points in this one.
  4. This game has playoff intensity (Or maybe that's how I feel sitting on my couch) No Goal, thank God.
  5. I remember watching Ball St. play in 2005 and they were one of the worst teams I have ever seen (granted a bunch of their team was suspended). How the hell did they become good?
  6. Did he guarauntee his retirement? If so he's not retired.
  7. Actually, I think McCarthy has always struggled in close games (I think he is a good coach but this is the one thing he struggles with IMO, unfortunatley its a very important aspect), he seems to try to do to much, last year the first half of the year it seemed like we won a lot in spite of him. Luckily for the Bears, Vikings and Packers this division isn't doing so well so it's anyones title to win.
  8. They are just [expletive] good @ home. Foley said last night that the Hawks haven't lost a game since March of last year at home (in regulation). Too lazy to look it up but was the final game against the Wings at home or on the road? 4-2 loss vs. Calgary on March 16 was the last regulation loss for the Hawks at home. Now, I haven't been to the UC for a game in almost seven years now, so I'm sure others can answer this better than me. Is it a raucous type crowd when the place is full? Because we know all of this season's home games have been sold out so far, and most at the end of last season were as well. I just wonder if it's the type of atmosphere and really gets the players going. I know the building is huge. Just don't remember how loud it gets. I haven't been to a game this year, but last year even when the Hawks were bad and it definitely wasn't a sellout, it was loud as hell. Can't even imagine how loud it gets this year, I'm going on December 26th though. I'm going to this game as well, just bought tickets today for my dad's X-mas present. It's my second game ever I went on the same day last year when Wisniewski beat the crap out of Tootoo and then blew out his knee. That was a fun time.
  9. I know it's the best conference in the country but I honestly get board watching the Big 12 and its arena football type scores.
  10. Best sporting event I have ever attended. GO HAWKS!!! i was at the Cap One bowl so nothing will ever top that but this is near 2nd along with the Wisconsin game in 04. I got a ticket to a game in 85 the morning of the game. Saw Houghtlin hit a 29 yarder to win it. Nothing will top that. My dad was at the game in 85 so we each got to see the two biggest kicks in Kinnick Stadium history.
  11. Best sporting event I have ever attended. GO HAWKS!!!
  12. I just thought of Zambrano, Peavy and Harden in the same rotation and drooled a little bit. Sorry next person who uses this computer at the library.
  13. Go other sports teams that I like.
  14. Gotta be one of the next five. Five game home stand coming up, then 6/7 on the road in the WEST. Circus trip for the lose. Ugh, the circus trip should be ugly.
  15. When is the next time they play a bad team at home?
  16. A 04-05 4th Qtr. performance for Gordon would be awesome.
  17. Yeah, that's what I don't get. We really miss Chandler I guess?
  18. Just a really random thought. How loud would the UC be for a playoff series against Detroit?
  19. I'm not too optimistic. The Vikings will be gunning for us and it's at that stupid dome. Any QB they have has to be better than T. Jack right?
  20. I love the black jerseys. Me too, one of my favorite alternates in all of sports. The Bulls' blacks are probably my favorite but I really like the 'Hawks black unis too. I think all black alternate uni's look good. At least all the ones I can think of are good.
  21. Lol, sportsmanlike manuver in a fight.
  22. So, after looking at the schedule, the Bulls might not win for awhile.
  23. As I said, same script as the other three losses. Red zone inefficiency and a huge turnover. First 4 trips to the red zone yielded 9 points which is just terrible. 1st and goal that many times you should come away with at least 16-17 points and that likely would have been enough for the win. Stanzi played poorly for most of the day and the o-line was worse than they've been all year. Defense played well again just too bad they couldn't get a stop after we come back and tie it. 4 losses by a total of 12 points and numerous chances in each one to get the win if you don't kill yourself every trip inside the red zone. So close yet so far away. i was arguing with some hawkeye fan on another site all week about this. he was bragging that the hawkeyes, while not as dangerous an offense as the illini, were more efficient in the red zone. he actually produced several graphs to back himself up. i thought his argument was dumb, even if he was right, though. his argument was based on the hawkeyes ranking in points scored being fairly consistent with their ranking in total offense. Northwestern game- 6 trips, 24 points MSU game- 6 trips, 13 points Illinois game- 5 trips, 16 points 2008 is the season that could have been for the Hawkeyes.
  24. I remember when Kirk Ferentz was on people's list for a coach that almost everyone wanted.
  25. In no more than the next 5 years, I fully expect them to completely outlaw tackling the quarterback. And I'm serious. I get why they have these rules for the QB, but it is getting ridiculous.
