  1. If the US loses tomorrow I hope it's from a Javy megadong that causes a redneck US pitcher to spazz out.
  2. Pujols could pimp a home run decently. That's about all he had going for him though. and a couple gold gloves too That doesn't make him less boring though.
  3. I would love for it to be something closer to the World Cup of soccer just because some of these games deserve more than half empty stadiums. That and more star players would just add to it. This is the first time I've watched it and I've enjoyed it, something is just missing to keep me from getting completely invested. Hope Mojo is wrong about it being the last one as I really think this could build into something.

  5. The Hendry-era feels weird now that we've won a title.
  6. I'm pretty sure Javy will get banged up doing something throughout the season because how he plays so if it happens now so be it I suppose. I'm sure he's fine though.
  7. Dex got so tired of Ross he joined the friggen' Cardinals even though Ross doesn't even play for the Cubs anymore.
  8. Depends on definition of star but his monster dongs in 2015 and The Comeback have at least given him some folk hero status.
  9. Winning the pennant was almost the peak for me. It took about three World Series games for me to be fully invested again after that euphoria.
  10. I love Ross's angry old man stare in the first clip. No wonder the entire team hates him with a gaze like that.
  11. Seems like everyone has great brackets this year probably because the lack of major upsets. Only 5 double digit seeds advanced. MTSU and Wichita St were favored, not sure but Xavier might have been favored over Maryland too, URI over Creighton was a popular upset pick. Only USC over SMU was any level of surprising but even that isn't that shocking. I'm 28-4 and lost only SMU from sweet 16. I think this weekend might kill a lot of those nice looking brackets. The games I lost: Princeton missed last second 3 to win, SMU missed last second shot to win, Seton Hall got screwed by iffy flagrant call in a 1 point game and Marquette blown out by South Carolina #noonecaresaboutyourbracket Yeah, I had a good feeling there wouldn't be many upsets so just went with a lot of chalk and here we are. I agree that the second round is where the chaos happens. This is by far the best bracket I've ever had and I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. This doesn't feel right!
  12. If South Carolina wins and UCLA avoids an upset I'd finish with 30/32 and all my sweet 16 teams alive. If SMU could have won and I would have picked Minnesota to lose like everyone else seemed too than I'd have a perfect bracket going. I'll take it though.
  13. I feel myself being disapointed Hector is pitching like crap than the US taking the lead
  14. I'm strangely excited about Iowa's NIT games. I guess it's because they're a bunch of young kids who I didn't expect to do much this year and they've been fun to watch most of the season (with low expectations following a Cubs World Series where I didn't really get emotional about sports for months but still) I think they could make a run which would be a thing I guess.
  15. I always thought it was silly that in hockey, football and basketball showboating is (mostly) accepted but in baseball you are a horrible person who deserves to be hit by a 95 mph thrown hard object because you enjoyed the difficult accomplishment of hitting a baseball really far.
  16. If he ever hits the hate will be wonderful.
  17. I'd like it to not be the last. International sporting events are fun but not enough people seem to care at all.
  18. I honestly didn't see Ohio State as a school who cared enough about basketball to bring out the pitchforks for someone like Matta after only two years of mediocre basketball following quite a bit of good.
  19. Maybe they got tired of his horsefeathers and collectively carried him out of the stadium as they were tired of his cranky old ass.
  20. um, game 4 of the 2003 nlds and.....I saw Big Z hit his first homer I guess...I have never seen anything too notable and I hate all of you that have.
  21. I definitely slumped in my seat after Davis hit the homer, but felt pretty good after we got out of it still tied (until the bottom of the 9th, when Joe sent Chapman back out and it turned into a roller coaster ride). I would say, and I'm sure others here felt the same, that I felt really good about things coming out of the rain delay. I was also hammered, shear willpower kept me concious during the rain delay. I kept telling myself "they win and you won't forgive yourself"
  22. for whatever reason the davis homer never got to me much. I think it was because the game was still tied, I was happy with the pennant and even being in that situation down 3-1 and because I had a lot of faith in that team. That run was so damn magical I am still trying to fathom how regular season baseball will feel and if we do it again this year....will it feel close to the same
  23. I didn't think I would get nervous about an Iowa game this year but that's where I am right now. It would suck to get on the cusp and then lose to Indiana and pretty much end that.
  24. I follow the Bulls way more because I like the NBA a lot but I need to get back into hockey. I haven't watched a game all year but it seems more fruitful and like a better use of my time.
  25. man, it's too bad Iowa had some horrible losses earlier this year. They're starting to come around and hopefully they can do some damage in the Big Ten tourney.
