  1. If Hendry could somehow get the Twins to eat some of Wood's contract he should be voted Executive of All-Time. :D #-o The next sentence was in my mind, so I f'd up.
  2. I'd love to have him back, though only if the Twins ate some of his contract. There are rumors that the Twins are looking at Wood with Nathan now hurt.
  3. Brian Roberts is hurt and the Orioles are looking for a temporary second baseman. Fontenot for someone like Cla Meredith and a prospect? Just spitballin possibilities here.
  4. If they can trade Silva for him, sure. That would be sweet. They can't do that. That would be Jim Hendry owning up to two mistakes.
  5. With Guzman now shut down and possibly out for awhile, is there anyone out there other than Frasor or Downs that would be appealing?
  6. DLee is too high. Cap Anson is too low.
  7. Muskat tweeted that Guzman has a torn ligament in his shoulder and will miss Opening Day. Whether he needs surgery is unknown. Just great.
  8. Good deal for the Mets. Dumb the Cubs wouldn't pull the trigger on something like that.
  9. That was one of the best games I've ever seen. So intense. Reminds me of why I love hockey so much.
  10. It's amazing how little each of the big three has accomplished since leaving the A's, though Hudson has had some success.
  11. That video made me cringe. Horrible thing to happen.
  12. The statue should be this pose: http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/deadspin/2009/11/mlb_g_bud1_600.jpg
  13. I don't hate him either. His '06 season was pretty good. I wish him luck.
  14. There's a chance for a playoff run. But my gut tells me we finish in second place and miss the wild card. I just don't think the team is a whole lot better than last year.
  15. That's a nice deal for the Twins. He's light years better than Punto. And Harris is better than Punto (thought not by much) so he should garner more at bats at third. They could compete in that division.
  16. Kennedy isn't bad...if it were 2002. The fact of the matter is last year was a fluke and he isn't getting any better. He was only a league average middle infielder during his (very brief) prime, anyway. I wouldn't want him either.
  17. He should be, if injuries didn't ruin his career. If he stayed healthy, he could've easily achieved HOF-worthy career stats.
  18. YES :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: I'm sorta scared we gave up way too much, but we needed a scoring threat like this. And he's only 26. Just gotta lock him up long term. will kovalchuk want to play long term in the trap? That'll work against it, but Devils are also in contention every year. That should factor into it too.
  19. And I'm perfectly OK with that. Oduya is replaceable with Andy Greene playing out of his mind and Bergfors is good but we have other good young forwards in the minors.

  21. Does this make one of Downs/Frasor more expendable?
  22. Someone will be getting a bottle of Molson chucked his way.
