    how are you not calling in sick or something on the night of game 6? :shock: I probably made $700 or $800 that day Guess that makes sense since it was only the NLCS. If it was a clinching game in the WS I would have called in sick.

    While this is very true, unfortunately they are not far off from the rest of the fanbase in Cubs hate. I went to abotu 20 games in 2005 and I Howry you not, there were more people wearing anti-Cubs t-shirts than sox jerseys. I never thought it was that widespread, but it really is. It's what happens when you hop on the bandwagon of a fluke season.

    What is this "everything" the Herald sensationalized? At no point did I write that DeRosa might miss the postseason. The Herald is in no way a sensationalistic paper. Maybe you ought to read more carefully. Y'ouch....

    I agree with this, nice post. And Derwood, I agree no couple got screwed but it's still morally wrong and sad that it was allowed to happen.

    Sox fans pay attention to the Cubs more than they do their own horrible team. I love watching them choke.

    and there's no way it'll happen. How much beer sales can there even be in the two innings leading up to a clinch? That's not exactly the ideal beer consuming time. How is it not? If the Cubs are up 8-1 in the 7th inning of game 7 of the world series... I'm chugging anything in sight.

    I'm not worried, our bench is deep enough. Move Soriano to 2B, move Johnson to LF, Fukudome to CF and Hoff in RF... obviously this won't happen but if worse comes to worse it COULD.

    I'd rather them win and push the Brewers out of the playoffs because I hate the Brewers and their fans.

    Cedeno has a lot of physical talent, seems to have an improving approach at the plate, and his minor league numbers dwarf Theriot's. And he's younger. Theriot is a nice decent league minimum player who doesn't hurt the team too much, but it's not like he's a great player. Why is this so astounding? Have you watched Cedeno at the plate? He is clueless. How about in the field? Remember the double play up the middle he muffed and lost us a game 2 weeks ago? I never want the ball hit to him past the 5th inning. He may be one of the least intelligent players I have ever seen. Because Theriot hasn't made just about the most stupid mistakes on the team this year. This is exactly right... but most people overlook it. He's like a bad version of David Eckstein.
