  1. Looks like I'm taking flask(s) with me every World Series game, then.
  2. Have fun at the rally, and I can't say the same to you about the Brewers.
  3. Also, I just checked. Even if he clears waivers... he is "part of the organization" and will get paid, but it is not counted on the cap. So yea, it does free up cap space :)
  4. Does that really clear cap space? I've really never delved too much into the financial aspect of the NHL. But if someone claims him, the new team has to pay his salary... so, yea?
  5. Actually I kind of hope they do win today so they have a one game playoff tomorrow. I love the atmosphere of 1 game playoffs, it's kind of like a game 7 feel. I'll actively be rooting AGAINST them tomorrow then. Plus if there's a playoff tomorrow, we have baseball to watch :)
  6. Tarp getting taken off the field, it's on WGN. Actually, it's the Steve Wilkos show, but they're getting ready to play.
  7. I swear I'm going to crush a small furry animal if Howry blows the playoffs for the Cubs.
  8. Wow that's huge... clearing up cap space is an awesome move... looks like we'll be seeing more of Niemi than I thought at some point this year.
  9. Looks like I'll have this game on mute with Pat and Ron in the background. Not going to listen to TBS retards for 9 innings a day.
  10. Are you quoting me for truth or to make it look like I'm contradicting myself?
  11. That's exactly it. I am a die-hard Cubs fan, have been all my life. I don't care one bit about the Sox, but they have a strange obsession about the Cubs. Odd. I enjoy watching Sox games because I am a baseball fan. I do not root for them or against them... and whether they win or lose has no affect on me. However, I am actively rooting against them today.
  12. Only in Milwaukee.
  13. I LOL'd.
  14. No Kershaw as 4th starter? Interesting... but good for us, we wouldn't be able to hit him.
  15. How are playoff tickets still available? Can't believe people won't go out and support their team... Wonder what the ratio of Dodgers/Cubs fans will be. Also be interested to see if Miller Park can finally fill up.
  16. Because I'm an optimist and the Dodgers are not that good. Manny is good and their pitching is good, the team collectively is not.
  17. We knew that the Cubs would get evening/night slots if they faced the Dodgers. The daytime starts would only have been if the Cubs faced the Mets or Phillies. So everything changed when Lou decided Howry was a good pitcher to face Braun. IT'S NOT MY DAMN FAULT. Hahaha I didn't think of it this way, but it's so true.
  18. You think so? I would probably take the Cubs 1-4 over the Dodgers 1-4, but at least right now the Cubs starters have more questions than the Dodgers do. And if the Cubs have the best rotation in the NL, the Dodgers certainly have the second best. Certainly. I've been following the Dodgers a lot this year because one of my good friends out there is a huge Dodgers fan and gives all the players to watch etc... we also had many bets on the season comparing the Cubs and Dodgers (which I cleaned house on FYI). The Dodgers rotation is definitely second best, but their offense is not: 24th in Runs (Cubs 2nd) 14th in AVG (Cubs 5th) 14th in OBP (Cubs 2nd) 24th in SLG (Cubs 5th) While their rotation is awesome, so is ours. The only real threats on a consistent basis will be Manny/Furcal (assuming he returns to form) and if they're hot... Loney/Ethier. Overall we dwarf them as a team and I expect to see that in the NLDS. Cubs in 4.
  19. I'm not nervous at all about the NLDS, we're going to blow through that easily. And I'd rather face the Phils than the Brewers just because Sabathia is a lot scarier than Hamels or Myers. Plus, if the Brewers are hot, they're nearly unbeatable.
  20. I fell asleep with like 1:45 left... glad I didn't wake up to a nightmare :)
  21. Their overall ERA is a bit deceiving because their bullpen is awesome. Our starters are levels above better than them, and starting pitching wins championships.
  22. Tonight, Monday Sept. 29th (6:00 PM Puck Drop) HAWKS (3-0-0) @ BlueJackets (1-3-0)
  23. Those are some seriously weird start times... oh well, time to adjust my schedule and email professors!
  24. OWNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
