  1. We can hope. :yahoo: :yahoo:
  2. Who cares what time the games start? Get a Tivo... They can't possibly make EVERY game a night game... jeez.
  3. GOALS: Pelletier (1) Versteeg (1) Sharp (1) Brouwer (1) ASSISTS: Barker 2 (2) Keith (1) Kane (1) Brophey (1) Fraser (1) Markarov (1)
  4. Dempster is pure awesomeness.
  5. I'm all messed up... The 10 minute misconduct was given to Fraser (not Barker, the ruling was changed)... Boulerice WAS ejected on his misconduct. Halfway through the 2nd... Hawks lead 2-1.
  6. Boulerice is such a schmuck. Cross Checking: 2 PIM Fighting: 5 PIM Checking From Behind: 5 PIM Game Misconduct: 10 PIM (EJECTED) So 12 real PIM in the first period and an ejection. EDIT: Cam Barker also got a game misconduct. EDIT 2: 0-0 Tie after 1st Period.
  7. Game just started... here's a sort of game center link... so you can follow along: http://live.nhl.com/nhl/app?service=page&page=RealTimeScoreboard&season=20082009&gameNumber=12&gameType=1
  8. It's been 100 years. These prices seem cheap. Its been 63 years. No, we're winning it this year. We've never won a World Series in the history of Wrigley Field. Yes, I know that. Jesus people, was it really that hard to understand that I was suggesting that the team was going to win a WS for the first time in 100 years. Cripes. No, they get it... everyone just has to argue semantics, it's ridiculous... just ignore it.
  9. Best possible manager for this team, I was all for it. But... When I was a kid, I lived in Oregon and had the pleasure of watching him for many years in Seattle.
  10. Wow a preseason sellout!!!! That's something! Not sure about the WGN Radio thing... isn't there a Cubs game that might interfere with that? Yea you're right... but you can listen to at one of these: http://www.cd101.com/ http://www.1460thefan.com/live/content/programming/index.html
  11. Hawks play the Bluejackets tonight... I'll be giving periodic updates on how our main lines are doing throughout the game... it should be on WGN radio for those in Chicago. Also, there are still about 250 tickets left for the game tonight, they are fairly cheap!
  12. While I agree with this... the Reds are going to be very very scary around 2010/2011. :banghead: Yea, I know it's said every year... but seriously look at their team. Bruce/Volquez/Votto/Phillips All great talent to build a team around... if they get a decent GM they will do this. Hope they move Harang in the offseason, I'm surprised they didn't trade him at the deadline regardless of his bad numbers on his horrible team.
  13. I couldn't disagree with this more. We have a bigger obligation to win the World Series. Set your teams up for the postseason, and then worry about fielding the best team after that. Losing teams don't worry about this stuff when they're playing all the kids from their farm system at the end of the year...why should a contending team worry about it? I'm not saying we should run out scrubs every day...but I don't think we should put the obligation to be competitive at the end of the season over the obligation to be competitive in the postseason. Maybe that's not what he's saying...but it's just one of those baseball idioms that drives me nuts. I don't think we should run our lineup out that we beat St. Louis 5-1. However, Lou is right about owing it to baseball to put out a lineup that is seriously capable of competing and winning. I'd like to see half starters/half scrubs alternating games from here on out. If we jogged out the ICubs for the rest of the season we'd be rolling over and the Brewers would be easily pushed out of playoff contention.
  14. They're only 1 down in the WC and are playing the Pirates at home.
  15. You are a scholar and a gentleman, thank you.
  16. While I agree with this... the Reds are going to be very very scary around 2010/2011.
  17. Blessed*.... seriously... Anyways... 03' was bigger.
  18. And then?
  19. If you're wanting audio, it's on the first page. Video, I have no idea if it's posted.... Yea I mean video, it was more directed at Aramis Fan.
  20. I need Fukudome's 3 run homer on opening day... do you have that somewhere?
  21. This is def. the year to give it a chance :) As said in the Toews ridiculous goal... Kane and Toews are the kind of players that bring franchises back.
  22. Yea, they just wouldn't have shown it.
  23. This is a funny poll because you already knew the answer before posting.
  24. Get to know two names: Jonathon Toews (likely ROY had he not been injuried) and Patrick "Candy" Kane. These two young men---who can't drink legally, mind you---are going to absoltuely dominate the NHL for a long time. Get to know these two franchise faces now, and the rest of the team will fall into place. Overchkin and Crosby get all of the glory of the NHL (like their predecessors Lemieux and Gretzky) but Toews and Kane are going to be this generations Stevie Y (Yzerman) and Mark Messier, in that they will be superstars in this game, but vastly underrated by people outside of their respective teams. Trust me, if you following the Hawks like the Cubs, you will love watching Kane and Toews play. Amen... Here is Mr. Rookie Toews at age 19 (just turned 19 when this video was taken) absolutely AMAZING: Here is Mr. Rookie Kane at age 19 as well... SICK shootout goal:
