    God I hate work from 4-5pm on Hawks nights! I won't be home until 6, gotta cook some dinner won't be able to do my pregame research until 6:45ish... I like knowing everything from injuries, to scratches, and love to read up on players I haven't heard of... I am trying my hardest to refrain from doing that now and nto finishing up my damn work!!!!!

    Jerry Hairston JR fits that bill rather nicely he can play the outfield and SS/2B. He really hit well last season for the Reds it might have been a fluke but for a utility guy we could do a lot worse. The way the bench shapes out will have a lot to do who platoons with Fontento. Um... out of curiosity how long have you been a Cubs fan? :)

    Basically, because Marquis and Peavy's contracts are pretty damn close aren't they? Almost offsetting? And, I know we're eating half... but we're also offloading 6mil for DeRosa.

    Possibly the Marquis situation has been solved. Its rumored that the Padres would now take Marquis in the deal with the Cubs paying 3-5 million. What levine said exactly was: Cubs send: Marquis (and half his contract), Vitters, Hart, DeRosa Cubs get: Peavy Phillies send: Happ and (Coste?) Phillies get: DeRosa Padres send: Peavy Padres get: Marquis (and half his contract), Vitters, Hart, Happ, and other Phillies pitcher. So basically it's Vitters + DeRosa for Peavy.

    Why do that when I can do it here? Can't search, but as long as the most important stats are here, that's all that matters. is there really a clamor for deciphering the ever important "game score" or "stolen base runs"? Not everyone knows what ISO or EqA is that browse these forums casually. Would be nice to have a sticky post for the casual browsers to be able to see a nice, quick, easy to understand explanation right on this very site.
