  1. That thought actually occurred to me this morning. I was going to say something similar but didn't want to fan the flames. But to answer your question, I think it's no-holds-barred in here. Same with the Hawks thread. We've all said some pretty bad stuff in there... but as long as no one reports it and it's not offending anyone... who gives a [expletive]? \:D/ \:D/
  2. Raisin posted here ONCE, only when I was rejoicing how the Hawks have like 500 more posts than the Bulls thread.
  3. You mean you don't know the sabremetrics of hockey? IGNORED. well you see martin brodeur is clearly a bad goalie because i say so and will not expound on this point, exposing myself to lots of criticism because i prefer to make vague, outlandish statements rather than thought out posts that back up my point. I know he has 3 stanley cups...but wins and loses are not the best way to measure how good a team or a player is. Marty Brodeur's random Anze number is .722. Cristobal Huet's is .832 the best goalie of all time is actually daren puppa. what an underappreciated gem! I remember his daughter being named "Isabella Megan Puppa". What a horrible combo of names I think his daughters name probably gave him .5 in the Anze random number rating system .376 Write an article for the main page, or you're banned.
  4. http://www.iltasanomat.fi/urheilu/uutinen.asp?id=1644050 Hjallis Harkimo doesn't want to speculate if Florida and Chicago are even options for the Finn-NHL hockey game. He basically denies it. The article out of Miami was quoted and supposedly denied. The Jokerit pays a price for every game to the NHL, depending on the team. Afterward it is the Jokerit problem to get themselves financially balanced. You could say that the Jokers couldn't afford the Montreal Canadiens on any circumstanses, more likely a small team like Florida. -------------- I hope this is just posturing and Harkimo didn't want to announce something that isn't "official" yet.
  5. Does the AHL do an old MLB thing and the conferences never play each other? I remember Quad City pretty much only playing their own division last year although since I don't live there anymore I don't follow them that closely. I won't pretend to know anything about the AHL... I've only been to 1 Wolves game ever. But that kinda makes sense.
  6. Avery to likely play on Saturday. Dammit, I looked at the Wolves/Ice Hogs schedules neither of them play Hartford this season =\
  7. Hey guys... freaking Spring Training starts today. I can't believe it... It's nice having other sports to watch during the off-season, this just flew by.
  8. I'm freaking stoked. It's Friday, work is slow, Hawks tonight AND tomorrow... But that's not all... For a combined Christmas/Birthday gift, my grandparents in Finland and my mom and dad are flying me out next season to Helsinki to watch the Hawks/Panthers series! I get to go to a NHL game with all my Finn friends... I hope I can remember any of it!
  9. Nice way to have defensive lapse with 3 seconds left.
  10. Derrick Rose is ridiculous. Wow is the UC loud or what!
  11. Hahahaha.... It's all good. Thank God it's almost time to go home... and for the first Tuesday or Thursday in a month I don't have a 5 hour class waiting for me after work. Wish there was a game tonight.
  12. http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/hockey/florida-panthers/story/901152.html We're opening in Helsinki, not Prague!
  13. I don't think it's tired, because it comes up every time Huet plays poorly and Khabi plays well. Which happens all the time! Dude is hellbent on arguing I'm irrational about this. Clearly I'm not. Its everywhere, on another hockey board I post at too. There was also one on the main NHL discussion section of HF awhile back.
  14. Good lord this Huet/Khabi argument is probably the most tired argument I've ever seen based around the Blackhawks. It's everywhere.
  15. MORE PICS! http://www.newsday.com/media/photo/2009-02/45006085.jpg http://www.newsday.com/media/photo/2009-02/45006084.jpg http://www.newsday.com/media/photo/2009-02/45006086.jpg http://www.newsday.com/media/photo/2009-02/45006088.jpg He could play tomorrow or Saturday!
  16. Khabibulin hurt: http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=271623&src=149 Niemi recalled. Please play Saturday!
  17. Which teams minor league team is that? Hartford Wolfpack (New York Rangers)... Coincidence? I think not.
  18. Avery practiced last night... http://www.nypost.com/seven/02102009/photos/avery.jpg Could play Wednesday against Manitoba.
  19. .974 SV% by Khabi won us this game... we better not roll into St. Lou and play like that or we'll be out of the game by the end of the 1st period.
  20. :pig: :pig: :pig: :bye: :bye:
  21. You got what you deserved for picking the Mexicans. No... I took Xavier... same outcome :(
  22. I'd try to fit Sharp in there for the roofer, but no doubt Khabi was #1. What more needs to happen for Q to come off this rotation business? If I have to watch Huet flail around Friday night, I'm going to be one unhappy human. It's fine to want Khabi to start every game, but you need to stop acting like Huet sucks Well... he doesn't suck... but he sure hasn't shown his true colors this year I don't know what that means, but he has above average numbers Huet is not a great goalie. He pisses me off a lot too, especially when he tried to play the puck. I just don't understand why everyone here trashes him non-stop. Big contract or not, he's an above average goalie. I vehemently agree with you... he is an "above average goalie"... but with two goalies with an enormous contract... the better goalie at the time (Khabi) is going to get the love and the one who isn't as good/consistent (Huet) is going to get the hate. I think us, as knowledgeable Hawks fans hate the contract more than the person. We see Huet making money we could have spent elsewhere. EDIT: And I guess I should admit I was incredibly excited about the Huet signing at first, because I figured he was taking OVER for Khabby, not "platooning" with him.

It's fine to want Khabi to start every game, but you need to stop acting like Huet sucks Well... he doesn't suck... but he sure hasn't shown his true colors this year... and we all know how he did for the Caps last year in the playoffs. I know he's a great goalie... I just can't trust him. (Especially in the playoffs).
