If Huet plays like this during the playoffs and Khabi rides the pine... I couldn't give a crap. When Huet is on, he's incredible... when he's iced on the bench... he sucks. Huet is the goalie that needs solid time out there. If Khabi would have played all season and not split time with Huet, this IR thing would have happened long ago and Niemi would be in goal every night getting shelled.

The following takes place between 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM. Events occur in real time. 1st Period Havlat had an incredible chance in the first minute. Havlat line is completely off the charts... Ladd scores!!! (10)!!! Faceoffs are a problem, they still suck. Havlat soccer traps the puck in mid air with a kick to the stick, unreal. All of the lines seem to be working exceedingly hard. Win a freaking face-off in the offensive zone! In the last minute, Kane and Toews were off the charts... nice plays! 2nd Period Huet stands on his head for the first few minutes. Cam Barker oh so close to potting one! Hawks PP deserves a goal after the last one, when the puck was in the offensive zone for 90% of the time. Kane's vision is incredible out there...he looked back and forth twice and then ripped a slapper dead on at Voukun... luckily big Buff made the save for him. Havlat made a lame breakaway move and didn't elevate the puck AT ALL. Kaner hit pretty high, no call? HOLY HUET! Diving glove save! 3rd Period Havlat with the ridiculous backhand/forehand shot... grrr nothing connects. Kaner, put the damn mouthpiece in your mouth! BEN SNIPER???? Top shelf where momma used to hide the cookies, eh? HOLY FREAKING HUET! 2 Point BLANK saves!!!! Bolland takes a penalty and jaws at the Panthers from the box, love it. TAZER shoots one from before the redline for the easiest goal of the season (just think how many goals he'd have if he showed up for the first 15 games?). This begs the question... why the hell did they yank the goalie so early? 4 minutes left? WTF? Eager! 2 for the night, good for him! HUET FREAKING SHUTOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hawks = .589 W% :)

That's awesome. Very jealous. My grandma was born there but I've never been. Wish I could say I could go this year, but it's not gonna happen. If the Hawks fly tonight like they did Tuesday, they'll win. Otherwise, I share your concerns about this one. Will be watching a Tivo'd version when I get home tonight. Hopefully I'll be happy. Have a bad feeling about this one. Huet in goal, Hawks are 5-2 in last 7 road games as well as the Panthers are 6-1 in their last 7 home games. Voukun been in goal 17 out of the last 18 games... we MIGHT see Anderson. I still have a bad feeling about this one and can see the Hawks losing a close one.

Ehh I think that call on Niedermayer was pretty lame. How do you get a charging for being pushed into a goalie? I say this from a standpoint of losing my 5 or under in the last 5 minutes... not as a knock to the Kings. I thought the officiating in the 3rd was brutal... I actually couldn't complain for the first 2 periods and was quite excited about it, then BOOM.

The Afternoon Saloon (Carmen, Jurko, Harry) always talk about the Hawks... it's awesome to listen too while stuck in traffic... those guys are hilarious. It's the morning show that doesn't talk about it. Waddle and Silvy are hilarious too... honestly, what can be the difference between morning/afternoon listeners? Both shows are on during the rush hours pretty much.

I just wrote an e-mail to Waddle and Silvy from ESPN1000 about covering the Blackhawks: The more people who e-mail or comment on the Hawks will coax them to talk more about it.

I must also correct myself, Huet did not play 40 minutes of shut out hockey... but once the Bolts had 3 goals, he didn't let any more in.

I'm still giggling like a schoolgirl about that one Havlat shift last night.

And good lord... look how that game turned out, epic. Kippy with the save of the year, easily. It sucks when both teams had no defense in front of them... but by God... incredible save by Kippy.

Hey [expletive]... Huet won... he let in 2 soft goals and adjusted after that. Hawks honestly could have won 9-1, 9-3, 8-4, whatever... the Hawks dominated a bad team with depleted defense... lets focus on that rather than focusing on criticizing the winning goalie who played 40 minutes of shut out hockey. And all of you know, I am NOT a Huet apologist, just a Blackhawks fan.

Kerry ROYmo, as cyno would say. I hate games like this. The hawks are thoroughly dominating but are probably going to lose because of a penalty and a fluke performance from a garbage tender ROYmo which is what I ACTUALLY put in my game notes was the difference from 5-3 game to a 9-3 game.

Let's hope the Hawk forwards aren't looking at it that way. Have you seen who is taking Sharp's place in the lineup? Just Adams? I took a quick look around but couldn't see where anyone was being called up. yea no one has been called up, I think they want the call-up to get some practice time

Wow TB's already crappy defense is even worse than I thought... Niskala has been playing in Sweden for awhile and Malik is out with a lower body injury. This might be an easy win... hahahahah. Eminger-Smaby Krajicek-Murphy Melichar-Wishart Worst defense in the NHL?

Lighting are going to be well rested and get up a bit more to play the Hawks. I hate to underestimate the terrible southeast divison because on any given night they can put up 5-7 (or 8 if you're Atlanta)... luckily their defense is Garbo. Huet in goal tonight, Niemi likely to play Sunday as it will be 3 games in 4 nights starting Thursday. I have to miss both games this week due to my Paramedic class :( Thank God for TiVo, but it's not the same. Hawks win 5-4.
