  1. They have Clayton and Juan Castro to play short...two no-hit, slick fielding shortstops. Chris Denorfia and William Bergolla were called up from here. I imgaine Ray Olmedo will go up and Bergolla will come down after Olmedo proves to be healthy (he took a ball off the neck/head on Sunday).
  2. If they move Phillips to short and play Freel everyday at 2nd, they improve their defense and the top of their order as well as thei bullpen, but they diod give up a lot in Kearns and Lopez. I am not convinced Wagner will ever amount to much. I've watched him for two years and he definitely needed a change of scenery.
  3. Gave up a lot to improve their bullpen.
  4. Lopez, Kearns, and Ryan Wagner to Nationals for Majewski, Royce Clayton, Bray, Brendan Harris, and Darryl Thompson
  5. I don't know if I would say he is struggling horribly. He's hitting .260, which is below his career average, but is still respectable. I don't have his peripheral numbers in front of me, but he has five or six hr's. But, I do agree, he may be pressing a bit due to the fact that he is so close. I have a feeling he has a hot streak coming up.
  6. Just say no to Dunn...he may be the worst defensive of in the history of the game. He hits meaningless hr's, like the one yesterday, and he hits .230. Sure he draws walks, but who cares when the only thing he does is homer or walk and nothing in between.
  7. Thank you Tim, that was awesome. Just based on his past, I trust Wilken. Samardija in the 5th?
  8. He's just going to be a bench player, provides some pop off the bench. I don't know why it took so long to acquire him. Lords knows we shouldn't have to give up too much for him.
  9. When he might be able to come back? He would make our bench a lot beter, not that thats saying much.
  10. There is no way that Soto is not called up when Barrett serves his suspension. You do not leave one catcher on a roster, you are asking for trouble. He is noted as being a very good defensive catcher and there is no way he could be as bad as Blanco has been with the bat this year.
  11. 73 pitches so far for Buehrle, well on his way to a complete game.
  12. since the 1st we have one walk and that is it.
  13. damn missed it by 1 has anyone realized that with that hr by thome, he now has more hr's than our entire lineup combined? i just threw up
  14. So should we get the extension talks going for Maddux now.
  15. They probably don't want to yo-yo Wuertz like that, want him to keep getting work in Iowa in case there is an injury or something in the bullpen.
  16. Ryan Strieby is a monster for Uk. 6-foot-6, good power the other way, hits for a high average, very patient, doesn't strike out a lot. Plays a pretty good 1st base too. DeJesus is only a Sophomore and has been struggling the last few weeks. His numbers were amazing through mid-April. In a little slump now though. Great range in center, pretty good arm, fast, great eye at the plate.
  17. I play in an NL-only fantasy league at work, but we draft 4 AL-teams every year. This year those teams are Angels, Mariners, Twins, and Rangers. I won the league last year, so I pick 10 and 11. Here are the guys I think will be there: Felix Hernandez, Richie Sexson, Griffey Jr, Felipe Lopez, Billy Wagner I protected: D Lee Aramis Ryan Howard Zach Duke Chad Cordero Who would you pick? I'm leaning towards 2 of Griffey, Sexson, and Lopez.
  18. I think I decided to keep two pitchers along with my 3 boppers. Closers are hard to find and Cordero is young and good. I read this morning that Pettitte is already nursing an injury. I don't have to turn this in until Friday, but I think I am going to go with... Lee Howard Aramis Cordero Duke I will probably go back and forth between Pettitte and Duke, and even Furcal to a lesser extent. Pettitte can win 20 games and had the best era of his career last year. I think I could probably get Joe Nathan with picks 10 or 11, so maybe I could keep Pettitte over Cordero.
  19. We have two UTIL spots. You really think Duke over Pettitte, Furcal, And Giles. I was leaning towards Furcal because he plays a hard spot to fill and he steals bases, but now you all are making me think.
  20. I participate in a 10-team league within our office. Our five protectable players are due on Friday, need some help regarding those five. We only use National league teams, but draft four AL teams every year. This years AL teams are: Twins, Angels, Mariners, and Rangers. None of those teams were used last year, so the choice of protectable players breaks down to: Derrek Lee Aramis Ramirez Ryan Howard Marcus Giles Rafael Furcal Andy Pettitte Zach Duke Chad Cordero I also had Manny, Rich Harden, and AJ Burnett last year, but I can't protect them. I won our league and will have the 10th and 11th picks. Who should I protect?
  21. Why do we always struggle against Jennings?
