  1. From Bruce Miles' twitter...at least its the pinkie @BruceMiles2112 Bruce Miles #Cubs say OF prospect Brett Jackson's injury is to ligament of left pinkie. He'll see hand specialist today. Apparently, no broken bone.
  2. Bauer at 21??? I'll take any of Bradley, Barnes, Bauer, Lindor or Springer. Not a big fan of Gray because of his projection as a closer. I'd rather have a starter that early in the draft.
  3. Candidate? Can't imagine there's gonna be one better than that...that was amazing.
  4. Don't forget about my boy John Shelby for Birmingham. Off to a little bit of a slow start and got moved to left for Danks but he can play a little.
  5. Anyone know why Blake Lalli finished the game yesterday for Tennessee? He took the loss in a 1-run game. Did they run out of pitchers or something?
  6. Bruce Miles reports Grant Johnson... http://blogs.dailyherald.com/node/1710
  7. I saw a lot of great pitching this past weekend at UK-Vandy series. James Paxton and Mike Minor on Friday, Chris Rusin and Caleb Cotham on Saturday, and Alex Meyer and Sonny Gray on Sunday.
  8. Don't mean to get any hopes up, but... Rich Hill so far... 3 ip 0 h 1 bb 4 k's http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?sid=milb&t=g_box&gid=2008_07_06_brrrok_cubrok_1
  9. Through 4 1/2 Mizzou leads Ole Miss 1-0 Crow... 5 ip 2 h 0 er 1 bb 5 k Lynn... 4 ip 2 h 1 er 1 bb 4 k 2 hbp (both in the 1st when the run scored) The first inning for Lynn went walk, single, hbp, fc run scored, hbp, k, ground out.
  10. Gotta be because Hank is playing today, right? Soriano Theriot Lee Ramirez Fukudome Edmonds (i feel dirty just typing that) DeRosa Hank Demp I think you'll definitely see Fukudome move up against righties when Soto is playing, at least I hope.
  11. Unless I am just a complete idiot, which is possible...45 mil over 8 years is a little over 5.5 mil per year, not 8. Great deal for the Brewers. He sucks in the field, but he can rake.
  12. When did we sign Steve Avery?
  13. Funny you mentioned Rea because AZPHIL wrote about him yesterday... http://www.thecubreporter.com/2008/04/23/killer-bees-lead-cubs-victory and 2B-OF Jeffrey Rea (who has been at EXST rehabbing a sore arm) was supposed to leave for Peoria tomorrow, but unfortunately for him (and good for somebody struggling at Peoria) he has had his promotion postponed probably until sometime next week after suffering a quad strain while running the bases in yesterday's game.
  14. Muyco to Extended to convert to P Clevenger to TN Lalli to Daytona http://cubs.scout.com/2/749157.html
  15. I think the biggest thing thats shows Cedeno has turned a corner are his at bats. He had 3 or 4 really deep counts this weekend, including falling behind 1-2 yesterday, working the count to 3-2 and then lining a single to right.
  16. From BA... http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/prospects/?p=669 Chicago Cubs Signed: RHP Cory Bailey, RHP Mike Smith, C J.D. Closser, C Danny Fatheree, SS Andres Blanco, OF Andres Torres The 30-year-old Smith, a member of the minor league free agent team, has posted a 4.59 ERA in 676 Triple-A innings. A fine center fielder, Torres, 29, batted .292/.363/.484 in the Tigers system in 2007. I didn't see these anywhere, sorry if already posted.
  17. You're in the ballpark, more than alot of us can say.
  18. Oh yeah. Good thing they hit Pujols "accidentally."
  19. Grit factor here should be enough for a 2-run single
