    Any chance the Yanks don't pick up Swisher's option? I think they would be stupid not to, but I would love to get Swisher if they do.

    I don't mind playing teams in your division 18 times or whatever it is, I just hate playing a series on the road against the Reds for instance, coming home for a series against another team and then immediately playing the Reds again. I understand its difficult making a schedule but I wish they would spread them out more.

    Yes, he did. But how often is a 3-hitter in a AA game going to immediately be a 3-hitter in the big leagues? Granted if Aramis is bunting after a leadoff single or double I could understand going throught the roof, but when Brandon Guyer bunts to get a runner over I don't have a huge issue with it. I don't think its a bad idea for guys to learn to bunt in game situations, especially when they may be called on to do so in a big league game.

    I agree, especially considering he's on pace for a type B free agent.

    The start for DSL2 has really good numbers...interesting to follow...

    The ball was way inside and it did not look like he spit on him on purpose if he spit on him at all. Definitely deserves a suspension though for the bumps and losing his mind.

    I was going to ask about Arias after looking at his stats this morning. Really impressive numbers.

    His April was bad and then he had the start in Arizona where he gave uip 7 ER without getting an out to top it off. Outside of his start against last week, he's been really good since.

    I wouldn't have a problem with a Baker/Flaherty/LeMahieu/Barney platoon at 3rd and 2nd if we got Fielder and Wilson...but we all know we would keep DeWitt for some reason.

    I watch Francisco play almost every day and I don't think he can play a big league 3rd base. He has pretty good hands and a really strong arm, but he doesn't have the lateral quickness. He can really hit, but if you are annoyed by people complaining about Aramis being lazy, just wait til you watch Francisco every day. I wouldn't mind trying to convert him to 1st though. And he throws a bat into the stands about twice a homestand, so don't ever sit on the 1st base side when he's in the lineup.

    What are everyone's thoughts about maybe trying to acquire him from the Pads? With Rizzo in the bigs he is obviously blocked at 1B and I don't think anyone see's him playing OF anywhere, especially in Petco. He OPSed over 850 as a 23-year old in a little over 50 games and then got hurt last year but is back now and is putting up good numbers. I don't know if he is even considered average at first and I would prefer to sign Fielder but Blanks would be a low cost option at 1B if we could swing a trade. I'm sure the Pads would want high minors pitching and I'm not sure we have what they would be looking for but I'm bored at work and came across his name. What do you think?

    Anybody heard anything on Grundy? He signed UK and we need all the help we can get. Also, where did you read the info on Tilson and Burdi?

    Marwin was having a pretty good year, albeit repeating the level, but what happens to his playing time with Lake's promotion? Did I miss an injury or does he join Flaherty as a super sub?

    Random observation...Soriano and Lake have the same K to BB ratio...49:6...Lake has quite a few more ab's though.

    with a bone bruise per Bruce Miles twitter...accounts for the Montanez move. Also, Geo will go to Tenn for rehab and hopefully return this weekend

    The thing that has to be encouraging for them is Santana and Choo really haven't gotten it going, and as others have mentioned, Sizemore and Hafner are currently on the DL. That's four huge pieces of their lineup. Masterson, Tomlin and White is a pretty good young start to their rotation. Hard not to a little bit of believer...

    Are there any reports on Ha in CF? I agree with Tim, the athleticism in the system is exciting and hopefully a couple guys develop enough power to be able to play left or right.

    Hope Cron somehow slips to the 2nd round for us as well.

    I think thats a worse case scenario for the Cubs...Bradley, Starling, Bauer and Barnes all gone. I would be ticked if we took Lindor with Springer and Bundy available. I would rather have Jungmann or Guerrieri as well over Lindor.

    Good to see Beeler's olbique wasn't too serious...obliques can be tricky...crossing fingers its not one of those lingering injuries.
