I don't know why I thought they would win, I just figured there would be a 5-12 upset, so I picked that game. I also randomly picked Kent State. 8-9 games are impossible for me.
My Final Four is UNC, Wisconsin, Pittsburgh, and Xavier. I have Temple beating Michigan State. West Virginia over Duke. Butler over Tennessee. I also picked Davidson over Georgetown.
Group A: Ryan Howard Group B: Ryan Braun, Lance Berkman Group C: Travis Hafner, Pat Burrell, Aramis Ramirez Group D: Chase Utley, Nick Markakis, Josh Fields, Ryan Zimmerman, Jason Bay WC: Evan Longoria
what teams do you have an issue with? just seems like they dismissed conf. tourney results in some instances and regular season in others (more in terms of seeding than who was in our out). Tennessee should NOT be in the same regional as UNC. Kansas shouldn't have to potentially play Texas in Houston in the Elite 8. Arizona St. got shafted. also, does anyone else think the play-in game should be between two at-large teams? i think that if you earn an automatic bid to the tourney, you should be in period. or eliminate the play-in game, which is altogether lame to begin with Kansas and Texas are on opposite sides of the bracket and can't play until the final. sorry, I meant Memphis It doesn't matter anyway. Memphis will lose to Pittsburgh.
This pretty much sums up my thoughts on the situation perfectly. Serious question: How can people watch LaTroy Hawking blow a whole season in one week in 2004, and then come back and say that it essentially doesn't matter who the closer is? The closer shouldn't be your best reliever, but he definitely has to have a certain mindset and willingness to close Don't confuse the Kerry crowd with any facts. Closing is easy, Kerry will do it 162 games this year. Didn't you see him fan #78 and #66 in the 7th yesterday in Mesa? Wow! Saves are meaningless, as long as Kerry gets to pitch. Wheee.. There are more than 180+ active pitchers with at least one save in the majors. But Kerry isn't one of them. But this crowd wants to hand the closer role over to an unproven, untested and injury prone thrower. Oh look..it's Sarah..wave at the camera for all your fans in Louisiana. Yipee..saves are easy. You have a lot of confidence in the Cubs.
Well if that's not an oxymoron. Lineup order doesn't matter, Move Theriots spot in the lineup. Unless you mean that the arguments are pointless because it is just a test. Lineup order barely matters, but if there's one thing you don't want, it's your worst hitter at the top of the order getting the most PAs. Happy? I still think Pie is worse than Theriot and the worst hitter out of our regulars. Really?
Including Marshall would be even worse!!!! have we been watching the same Marshall who just keeps losing velocity....he was barely breaking 80 at times last year....Marshall can go IMO I have no idea what his velocity was last year, but I'd be happy to have him as the fifth starter. Too bad the Cubs don't seem agree.
Hahaha. I'm glad that I wasn't logged in so I was able to see this gem. I don't see what's so crazy about that. His OBP was .377 last year. He's stating with certainty that Roberts will reach an OBP that he has only reached once. That's about 35 points above his career average, and Roberts has been over .350 only twice in his career. It's similar to saying Soriano is a shoo-in for a .360 OBP. Oh, I guess I read it differently. I don't expect him to put up those numbers either. I just wouldn't be shocked if he did.
