  1. Hope noone knows anyone who parked on Wilton tonite on the north side of Waveland. Car #2 getting towed already.
  2. Z better start getting these pitches down. 2 batters and 2 pop ups won't bode well long term tonite
  3. Towards the end of the game, met with some friends sitting near center... I don't know how it looked on TV, but Kerry's backdoor slider to strike out Corey in the 9th was absolutely sick. He had no chance of hitting that. Wood started it so far into the right hand batter's box, and then it just ripped the outside corner.
  4. What were they saying? Standard trash talking stuff. Nothing that too over the top, which is why I was a little surprised that he actually responded enough. Alot of "5 tool player my a**" and "We chose your brother over you" and "Watch out for the curveballs" etc. And then some jokes pertaining to his sexuality, which have been largely questioned over the years. But you give a guy and six of his friends a couple beers and they think they are the funniest guys in the world. Actually glad to see them tossed, were ruining the game.
  5. I just got back from the game. Sat 8th row in bleachers in Right Center. I haven't read through this thread, so here's some stuff that I saw: a) Ken needs to ease of the donuts. He also had a slight limp. b) Corey could have definately had the first ball he played off the wall. He would have had a questionable shot at the second one. He was harassed all game long (a good 3 or 4 of the hecklers got the boot), even laughing and joking along with some of the people. c) I boo-ed Bako. Long and hard. d) Good amount of empty seats empty in the grandstand. Bleachers were full. e) Pie went pretty hard into the wall in the third and was grimacing for a solid time afterwards. He'll be off tomorrow.
  6. Best insight ever: According to the female on CSN: Hitting, defense, and pitching win games.
  7. I'm about to head down and see about tickets. I know it's first night game and all, but it's still a Tuesday night. Should be plenty.
  8. Can he recruit us a new pitcher? No, but he can make a mean burrito
  9. New rotation: Dempster Lieber Z Marshall and Steve Trout Nice throw Soriano, if only had had gone
  10. He missed the inside corner by half an inch three times that at bat
  11. I hate Burrell. He reminds me of Putty from Seinfeld, except for the fact that I like Putty.
  12. Did anyone else think that was going to be gone? I thought Johnson's was going to be out too. Seem to be making solid contact, but they aren't getting out.
  13. Hows the game looking? For those of us who aren't out of the office at 7 on a Friday night...
  14. We also don't have any ongoing jokes happening at the moment. Otherwise, every other wiseass on this board would be contributing to the joke. Nope. No ongoing jokes. No joke to "beat" into the ground. No joke to "abuse" over and over again.
  15. Unofficially, Myer's wife (276) trails only Craig Biggio (285) in career HBP.
  16. A) The Kendrick thing was the closest borderline funny/mean thing I've ever seen. Hysterical. B) If the players took bats to the car....and Wood is suspectively involved.... And Wood's back starting getting stiff on Tuesday, the same day the car demolishing happened. And his back got worse on Wednesday.... It's elementary, my dear Watson. It seems to me the damage was done with something other than bats. I can't imagine they all stood around and beat the crap out of it. "What Buss saw was his wife's car, a 1995 Nissan with 106,000 miles on it, turned to junk. It was parked on the ramp near the right field corner of HoHoKam Park and completely demolished. It had dents everywhere, courtesy of a few free-swinging Cubs..." Just throwing it out there. Nothing else to talk about right now. I mean who wants to talk about march madness, opening day in a week and a half, roberts, election, bear sterns, the fed, or anything else boring.
