  1. I bet Maine is so pissed that Carlos keeps getting the calls on the corner...
  2. Just curious, what do you suggest he should have done? attempt to go around him, just stopped but not ran back towards the bag. I have a question though - wouldn't Church have had an argument for interference if he would have ran into fontenot, fontenot was in the baseline. Not if Fontenot has the ball. Then he's making a play. If he didn't have the ball and was in the way, then yes.
  3. more details needed. tv size, drinks available at home, snacks, presence of wife, etc. 52" flat screen hd. All sorts of wine, beer and booze. I think there's water and milk somewhere too. Wife's arrival time depends on how busy she is today, probably a bit before gametime (same as me). If she's home by first pitch she will most likely want to make a good dinner. My guess is I'm going to get home before her, and therefore get dog walking duty. I'll dvr the start of the game in case I don't get back in time, then fast forward up to real time. Luckily the pooch spent all weekend wrestling other pooches and will be fine with a shorter-than-usual walk. if I could get a good meal with the game, I'd stay home I've had this debate before with friends, and I would say the biggest variable is distractions. Depending on the restaurant/bar, you can barely hear the game half the time or miss seeing the game due to people walking around, trying to talk, etc. Then again, if the dog or wifie or any other distraction takes away too much at home, then heading out may be the best option. Also depends on the game: Is it highly important that you want to get into (tonight) or is it a slacker game that you might throw in the backups for some PT (see: Pirates).
  4. Theriot is going to begin to start himself on his fantasy team
  5. It is pretty important. That's why you don't lower your chances of doing it by bunting. I would actually say that you raise your chances of scoring by bunting him to third there. If you got a guy that hits .300, there's a 70% chance he's getting out. Might as well make the out productive by moving the runner over to third, where an out, which again is 70% likely, can still score the runner. Given, I realize this entire discussion is based upon odds and an individual's baseball theory prefernce.
  6. I know some people might disagree, but I like the bunt here. Sure, you may cost yourself an out, but getting on the scoreboard first is that important.
  7. This isn't Jesus Dempster, it's his brother Ryan. The way he has pitched so far this year, you never know. I like to picture Jesus in a tuxedo T-Shirt because it says I want to be formal, but I'm here to party.
  8. [Nice to see Phillips out, but I wish Corey could be in there for one last round of shame at Wrigley today. Would have been fun to see him go 0 for Double Digits in Chicago. 0-9 is pretty solid, though. Gotta leave some room for improvement. 0-11 next time he's back.
  9. Glad to see Hank in there. It's been a couple of days. Gotta get his .375 some PT
  10. Carlos swining mightily for the fences..and will now take a seat. Font up
  11. damn good luck. Ball hit sharply up the middle, hit the bag, bounced up, theriot grabbed and threw out 4-1 cubs after 1.5
  12. Encarnacion showing his power...duck snort to short left. First and second, one out. Votto gets ground rule double after derosa misplays the ball.
  13. Dunn walks, encarnacion up to get an inning ending DP
  14. wait, I've never seen this.... is that edited at all or is Mike going down like that on his own? Yeah, when was this? Funny stuff! They showed it before the game today
  15. Soto just got a large cup shot behind the place. Hope he doesn't take after felix. KKKKK
  16. Fly out to 1st. Good first inning, eight batters, 4 runs.
  17. update rundown: Font out. Theriot Double off wall in Left Center Lee singled to right Aram HBP Fuku double down first base line, two score Dero doubel over third base, two more score Soto just K'd Johnson up and Reds pitching coach is still named Dick Pole
  18. ha. Reds PItching coach: Dick Pole. ha.
  19. FUKUUUUUUUUUUUU DOUBLEEEEE 2ND AND 3RD
  20. HBP. Off speed to the lower back. Full and one out for Fuku
