  1. can't believe the guy with no power that gets 94% of his hits on grounders just between the ss and 3b is coming back to earth.
  2. and fine, let him face carpenter. then when he walks him yank his worthless ass if you’re fine with using cishek anyway.
  3. You’re not going to have a righty pitch to Carpenter there, you just aren’t. So your choices are Wilson or Duensing he has an OPS of over 1.000 vs lefties
  4. who woulda thought the guy that walks a batter per inning was a bad choice for the top of the 9th of a tie game.
  5. i didn't even think the guy was gonna horsefeathering throw it.
  6. the ugliest five "good" innings pitched i've ever seen.
  7. I don’t remember Hendricks being so pathetic with the bat in previous seasons
  8. great spot for guy just back off the DL who sucked in rehab outings
  9. do the cubs have a horsefeathering quadruple header tomorrow or is this one of those games where 6 relievers are unavailable.
  10. wonder what it was about the Chatwood at 120 pitches vs votto (much worse vs lefties) matchup that joe liked so much, but when scooter was up joe was like “time for the lefty!”
  11. I’m really surprised letting a shitty pitcher throw his 120th pitch to Joey votto didn’t work out
  12. thankfully that was zobrist running to 2b and not russell.
  13. guess don't walk the guy with a .400 ops? just spitballin.
  14. um without him the cubs be without all that sweet darvish production
  15. so that one game where it was tied in like the 6th inning wasn’t a spot to use cishek but this is
  16. The Dodgers have stranded more baserunners than the Cubs THEY DON'T DESERVE TO WIN EITHER THE GODS ARE FAIR AND JUST but they used their closer in the 9th inning so they get to win
  17. I can’t believe how much I hate the manager that managed the cubs World Series winner
  18. Someone from the “late inning circle of trust” should have been used with two on, no out in the 6th inning if 0-0 game. That’s the problem. They need to get at least 3 more innings from the pen tonight and they play 14 consecutive days afterwards. If there’s a time to use someone like Farrell/Bass it’s in a situation against a slew of non-elite RH bats like that. Bass gave up 2 routine ground balls, a line drive, and a K, would you really expect Cishek to do that much better than that? I don’t know if Ozuna is “elite,” but he’s their best hitter and if you’re saving your good pitchers for “elite” opposing batters I guess you won’t use any good relievers against the cardinals. and if you want to give bass credit for inducing an Ozuna routine grounder that found a hole, I guess you have to hold the Molina DP against him cuz it was smoked.
  19. Literally anyone but Anthony horsefeathering Bass is defensible. Yes im sure Farrell(the other RH outside the late inning circle of trust) would’ve been greeted with cheers. Someone from the “late inning circle of trust” should have been used with two on, no out in the 6th inning if 0-0 game. That’s the problem.
  20. he’s pitched one (1) inning since June 9
