  1. of course, neither does bynum. if you're going to waste a roster spot on someone that can't hit, i'd prefer that guy be able to at least serve as a defensive replacement at a position that could use one.
  2. even though it doesn't matter what you do, please continue to pitch well, rich.

    Week 4

:D And I still have Oswalt & Halladay later in the week. Look on the bright side, my offense is slumping. Well, other than Albert who is just a deity. i'm glad i won't have to face you getting a bunch of starts next week. maybe by then teams will figure out that you shouldn't pitch to pujols.
  4. You go to law school, right? I'm guessing that you've learned to parse through material a little better than this. what material did i mis-parse? Apparently, you are willing to give Wastra a pass by using only Jones as ringing proof as an indictment against Hendry that he had "no plan", yet me pointing to the superior bullpen he has assembled as one indicator that he DID have "a plan" is lacking? Not very consistent of you there. i have no idea what you're saying. i never said he had no plan.
  5. It's always relevant. yeah, she was at the wives' auction thing in mesa. and she is hot. it's not like she stopped being hot when koronka got traded. :D

  7. I just don't get it. The Cubs were frustrated by Corey's inability to be a more selective hitter, so naturally they go out and get a more EXPENSIVE, OLDER version of Corey. I just don't get it. I would prefer Burnitz to Jones. Jim Hendry = No Offseason Plan. Again. Funny. It seems like he at least put together one of the best bullpens in baseball, if nothing else. and a good bullpen is what % of a complete team? Listen, he had a plan. It might have not worked completely, and it might not have been the exact same one you or wastra might have wanted...but for some around here it's like pulling teeth to give Hendry ANY credit. And it gets old. so far his bullpen moves look good. but building a good pen and doing only that isn't anything to get all excited about. also, you say he 'had a plan' as if that alone deserves credit. i'm confused by that. and if you're so tired of my posts, put me on ignore.

  10. wow...six runs just scored really fast.
  11. let's all hope that the current coaching staff is fired before they can screw up murton and cedeno.

    Week 4

i'm glad juan and i have the same # of starts this week. should be a good battle.
  13. you hit the 2 key on accident.
  14. that would be even more stupid than just having gooz start. why mess with guzman's schedule now that he's finally healthy?
  15. that trade is still in the TBD category. i don't care what koronka does in the future...any trade that puts bynum on the 25 man roster can immediately be deemed a bad one.
  16. fine. i'm just not ready to make a final judgment on hill's mental stability based on 7 erractic major league innings (and 15 good to great innings).
  17. fine, but that's not what you said before. you said you didn't want hill b/c he seemed 'rattled' when he was up before. to me that sounded like you were questioning his mental toughness, not his command/control. Well, I am. I think they go hand in hand to some extent. Hill used to have awful control. Since that time, he has shown he has decent command at AA and AAA. However, he hasn't shown that he has good command yet at the major league level. Mental toughness could very well have something to do with that. Maybe that is something that will come to him as the game at the major league level "slows down" a bit for him, or maybe it won't. While I clearly hope that he does find that command at the major league level, it certainly is fair to question whether it ever will. i guess we disagree then. i don't think wildness = lack of mental toughness.
  18. So? Aramis Ramirez has been awful so far. And I don't anyone expects him to continue at this pace. It's only a question of when he turns it up, not if. yeah, except ramirez was very good last year, while pierre was awful in '05.
  19. Yes it does. If you reach on an error, you get charged an AB, 0 for 1. And for OBP it counts as a reached base safely. no it doesn't.
  20. I guess Dusty is feeling desperate for each run, since this lineup isn't really murderer's row. and he thinks that giving up outs will accomplish that?
  21. if the cubs want to give up outs, at least let it be pierre getting thrown out trying to steal. at least there's a chance that could be productive.
  22. quit bunting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if you insist on having him bunt, at least let pierre steal so the bunt takes him to third.
  23. fine, but that's not what you said before. you said you didn't want hill b/c he seemed 'rattled' when he was up before. to me that sounded like you were questioning his mental toughness, not his command/control.
