  1. first time i've ever been mad at baker for taking a guy out too soon. stupid QS stat!
  2. if the homeplate ump didn't have such a tight zone and the cubs could field a ground ball, hill would have made it to the 8th inning. damn it, i needed a QS for my fantasty team!
  3. You reffering to his 2 walks, today? Three! it's almost as if hitters have some kind of ability to draw walks.
  4. otherwise?
  5. ball 2 to prada was a strike. hill gets out of it.
  6. damn it, hill. didn't he walk the pitcher in another game?
  7. izturis unable to drive in that run with his glove. cubs' defense stellar so far for hill.
  8. his defensive reputation is much better than his actual defense.
  9. you're welcome for that trade. sure could use him now that half my staff is hurt...
  10. well, i didn't pay much attention to my lineup this week...i had two injured guys in the lineup that didn't score a point.
  11. i'm glad dontrelle is getting that three hit shutout (and 30+ point start) out of his system this week... i was hoping this week would allow papelbon, schilling and clemens to get healthy, but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen.
  12. ...and said this... bynum hasn't outproduced theriot (or anybody, for that matter) in any way.
  13. how can he say that with a straight face?
  14. those that are in it can still add/drop correct? also, if a guy gets shut down for the year due to injury (but is not placed on the DL b/c of expanded rosters), can we still put them on our DL? this may be the case with papelbon.
  15. ? i could generously give him the benefit of the doubt and guess that he is trying to say it's more weird for him not to be prepping for the playoffs simply because he really isn't concerned about the braves. however, in any event, this guy's delusion that he perennially manages in the postseason is bordering on insanity.
  16. wow, HBC is right back in it. by the way, buddiga's lineup is all messed up.
  17. I'm hoping it's an NL team. Can you imagine Dusty in Arizona with all that young talent? Poor Connor would never see a start over Tony Clark. He'd push them to pick up Luis Gonzalez's extension too. That Luis knows how to win! dusty was in the on deck circle when gonzalez won the world series against rivera.
  18. weird...i read in more than one place that hill broke the record of 10 held by steve wilson.
  19. just watched the game on tivo, and that's some of the best stuff i've ever seen hill have. he was dropping 2-0 curves in for strikes, buckling knees with both his curve and his fb, and how about that sidearm fb he k'ed duffy with?? i don't think i've ever seen him throw that before. and he broke the cub record for k's in a game by a lefthander.
  20. and the giants before that, the cardinals before that, the phillies before that, the astros before that, the pirates before that, the dbacks before that, and the cardinals before that. last eight outings... 50 ip, 36 h, 15 er, 14 bb, 45 k's, whip of 1.00, era of 2.70. just for fun, if you throw out his one bad start, those seven outings come out to... 45 1/3 ip, 30 h, 9 er, 9 bb, 43 k's, whip of .86, era of 1.79. edited for math mistake.
  21. wowsers.
  22. the best run of dempster's career (by faaaaar) was with dusty as his manager. his failings are not dusty's fault...dempster simply has never been a very good pitcher. the person who deserves the most blame is hendry (as usual) for giving him that contract.
  23. LEGITIMATE!
