  1. i'm glad wieters didn't fall to the brewers. boy, the brewers infield would have been set had they gotten him.
  2. actually, if he wasn't loafing out of the box, he wouldn't have had to extend himself at the bag, and he probably wouldn't be hurt.
  3. Well in fairness to Lou, he did say Guzman needed to go to the BP because of cramps. Now he's on the DL because of a cramp. i don't care how you slice it...tightness in the forearm doesn't equal hamstring cramps.
  4. This one I like. :) that's a heck of a first rounder.
  5. i don't understand the talk of all this "electricity" and "infectious energy"...is it because he's fast and good?
  6. well not really, but why is it so preposterous if they are? because they're not at all similar. i'm not going to go through the trouble of pointing out all their differences...others have already done it.
  7. to temper your excitement - jim hendry will be the one trading him. As much as Hendry does suck, has he ever really sucked with a trade involving major people with the exception of dumping Maddux for Izzy? I mean I definitely think hes a bad gm but he's usually pulled off awesome trades, for example Lee for Choi, the Aramis/Lofton for peanuts, Nomar (at the time at least). I don't see why it would be dumb to think that he could haul in good value for Carlos. in all those trades he was the dumpee, not the dumper.
  8. No. Why not, he always gets on a base. Soriano doesn't get hot til late in the game. i just got 10% dumber.
  9. that's good, but not 8 year 130 million good. yeah, i'm not so sure that deserves the smiley face with sunglasses. that puts him like 13th among all outfielders in OPS. of course, even with a 1.000 OPS, his contract would still be bad. I think of his value as a leadoff hitter, not as a LF. good luck with that. think of how awesome he'd be if the cubs bat him eighth!
  10. I'm really liking that 125 isod from Ronny where the crap was that all last year he wasn't playing in AAA last year.
  11. ALEX RIOS, GUYS, ALEX RIOS!
  12. are people kidding when they're comparing gallagher to carmona? give me a break.
  13. i don't understand why people love z for stuff like this. Because he doesn't follow the "book" on what to say to the media, or how to act in general. It's endearing.....to a point. When he starts freaking out during games because he's sucking? That's when it loses its charm for me. i've been annoyed by his antics for a while now. needless to say, for me, this year has removed any charm he previously had.

  16. It's the Cubs. They're idiots. They've shown over and over again they have no idea how to run an organization. Cherry isn't exactly lighting it up in AAA. His stuff has dropped off a lot from what I saw of him in ST. I could care less about Gallagher's arbi clock. We need guys who can throw strikes in our bullpen. yeah, because the ability of the fourth righty out of the pen to throw strikes is the only thing holding the cubs back right now.
  17. give lilly another inning or so.
  18. westbrook threw up a real stinker in maybe week 3, but i don't know if it was that bad. ouch.
  19. i'm happy for sean, as i've met him and he's a really nice guy, but it seems kinda weird for him to go to the pen. though i'm sure he's not complaining.
  20. that's officially my guess. me too... i forgot that it was lilly and not Z tonight. Him pitching in Zambrano's spot makes a lot of sense; makes one start and then goes back down. That still doesn't make sense, because tomorrow he'd still be pitching in Milwaukee, yet his father is going to Atlanta. but his father isn't the one pitching. he said sean was going to milwaukee. though you'd think they would have told sean if he was starting tomorrow.
  21. that's officially my guess. suspending him is quite stupid for the team's sake. As far as I know, they can't just suspend him and add a guy to the 25-man roster, there would have to be another move, and that would punish somebody else for Z's actions, no? yeah, but that wouldn't surprise me. they punished guzman for howry/eyre sucking.
  22. are you saying this b/c you don't want the cubs to trade one or more of their players or because you don't want hendry to trade one or more of his players? I don't want Gallagher to be traded... he seems to be a good kid, and it's nice having inside info on one of the better prospects in the organization. what makes you think it's gallagher that's going to be traded? didn't he say he was joining the cubs? they wouldn't call him up to trade him. they'd have to put him on the 40 man roster before trading him... but yeah it doesn't make sense to tell him that he's going to pitch in atlanta when he's being rostered just for the purpose of trading him why would they have to 40 man him to trade him?
