  1. Yep, if only Howry would have made Jones slide. sliding wouldn't have made a difference. now slowing down around third and looping out like he was going into the dugout... It would have. Ross had just enough time to catch the ball turn and brace for a hit. Ross was standing up when he caught the ball. A slide by Jones and he has a 75% chance of scoring in my estimation. well, sounds like you've got it mathematically figured out. Well it sounds like....hmm...well you have no basis for your argument either do ya big guy? arbitrarily throwing out 75% doesn't make your argument worth anything. he and ball arrived at roughly the same time. it looks like he should have gone around ross and slid, but the way he rounded third put him in a real awkward position relative to the catcher. there was no real way for him to slide based on where he was standing. if he would have slid from where he was when the ball got there he just would have hit ross like three feet in front of home plate. good enough for ya, big guy?

Did you even watch the game? Everyone that saw it agrees a slide would have made all the difference. well, everyone's wrong. he should have scored, but sliding/not sliding wouldn't have made a difference. Oh, I forgot your a tough guy bully now. Yep the whole world is wrong but you ABuck. i say one thing, you say the other and i'm a bully? you're just mad b/c the cubs lost. quit being a baby about it.

  6. ultimate fake rally. howry is pathetic.
  7. So he should have been fired after putting together a pretty good team in '04 and a semi-decent one in '05? I'm definitely not a Hendry fan, but your point of view seems a bit extreme. four games under .500 for a team w/ a $95 payroll isn't semi-decent. it's terrible.
  8. sarcasm? that was brutal. he about tripped over his feet and then overdove by about six inches. ??? Sure you didn't see the replay? the ball was about two feet to his left. the field conditions probably had something to do with it, but that's a play that should have been made. Didn't see the replay, but the fact that he had to leap and extend his body and still maintained getting a glove on it was good enough. like i said, it was likely due to the field conditions, but he shouldn't have even had to dive. i am glad he was able to knock it down though. good to see soriano's back to playing like he's never picked up a bat before.

  10. yeah, hill sucks at striking guys out.

  12. That's sort of my point. Hendry is responsible for a bunch of terrible moves, but he has made good ones also. What has Krivskey ever done? put together a team that, in 2006, finished 14 games ahead of hendry's team with half the payroll? That strikes me as more blind-luck than testament to his ability to oversee a major league ballclub. and that's how i feel about hendry's few successes. it amazes me that a fanbase that has suffered through so much losing has had such patience with hendry. if he were in any other big market city he would have been fired before he could have even put together that turd of a team in 2006.
  13. hill's filthy tonight, but i'm worried about how this strike zone is going to effect him.

  15. the notion of calling someone up to "showcase" them is just silly. murton has like 700 major league ab's and 1,000 minor league ab's. teams know what he's got...12 ab's this weekend isn't going to change that.
  16. i'd maybe punch that second guy if i saw him on the street.
  17. yeah, it's real dangerous to go there against floyd, brenly. he's liable to hit a single or something.
  18. it's just hard to watch marquis pitch. he's atrocious.
  19. charge the mound and hurt marquis' pitching arm, please.
  20. why does everyone assume the cubs have the slightest bit of interest in salty? if they were willing to give a young catcher a chance, they would have already done it with soto.
  21. this is mind-boggling... can that even be right? my goodness, this is a big market major league team...that's pathetic.
  22. after seeing this trade, i almost want hendry to just do nothing.
