  1. lol what? sorry we can’t sign a guy to a one year deal/deal with an opt out, as that would leave us with too many expiring contracts after next year so instead we’ll sign nobody.* *I realize they could still sign/trade for somebody but they’re running out of options.
  2. blowing their one year of tucker stings a lot less now that it appears as though he’s just pretty good and not like “top 5 hitter in the game” elite.
  3. the failure at the trade deadline kept this team from having a chance to do something special. there is obv a very small difference between these two teams and that difference manifested itself tonight by the brewers having a guy that throws 100+ be their bulk guy while the cubs depended on 35 year old journeyman colin rea. just an unacceptably bad job by the front office, as usual.
  4. fitting that the nail in the coffin comes courtesy of the crown jewel of the disaster trade deadline
  5. lol dansby that was horsefeathers pathetic. two innings of their well rested, best reliever incoming.
  6. lol Kittredge is like “how can I make the Phillies pitcher feel better about his horsefeathers up?”
  7. 1st and 2nd, no outs with 3-4-5 up vs the softest part of their pen that cubs are gonna see the rest of the game and not scoring is how you lose a game like this.
  8. hope that’s not the defining ab of Tucker’s cub career
  9. scoring multiple runs off this dork or making him throw so many pitches that he can’t cover 4 innings was the key to winning and the cubs haven’t done it.
  10. brewers would be crazy to not start a lefty to at least try to slow down busch for one ab (or push him down the lineup). and I realize he took a lefty deep tonight.
  11. castro sucks at hitting, shaw sucks at hitting. even though he’s had his shaky moments, shaw is better defensively. this isn’t that complicated.
  12. wild to see a guy light $100-200 mil on fire like tucker has done the last 3 months.
  13. rarely see a manager make such obviously poor decisions that actively hurt a team in the postseason. and he’s allegedly the best manager in the game.
  14. my goodness counsell has been atrocious since his WC game 1 A+ effort.
  15. what kind of odds could you have gotten on palencia getting two Ws in the WC round a month ago when it looked like his arm exploded.?
  16. that fly ball to cf was scary. also, is Keller broken? that’s as bad as you can possibly look.
  17. counsell has been horsefeathers atrocious the last two days
  18. won’t ever happen but I hope they trade Shaw. impossible to root for personally and has looked like an overmatched JV player for 80% of the season
  19. man I get it, but taillon was really cruising. if any of these RPs struggle out of the gate it’s gonna be tough watching them try to get through 3 batters.
  20. would have taken some huge balls, but should have ph Ballesteros for Shaw in the 2nd. dude has no chance.
  21. the charlie kirk crew sure horsefeathered the cubs there
