swanson switching things up by making two outs instead of his usual one.

unless money is unlimited, I’m not giving him $50 mil or whatever. the difference between him and madrigal/wisdom/morel is smaller than the difference between bellinger and whatever guy they would get to try to fill that hole in the lineup.

smarter teams are gonna absolutely refuse to pitch to bellinger if swanson and his bat with a hole in it continue to bat behind him.

my preference would have been to try to sneak another inning out of palencia earlier. he's either really good or complete trash, and he looked like we got the good version today. i think ross is too quick to pull a reliever that's cruising. i wanted him to stick with merryweather in the game the other day because he looked good, and, sure enough, leiter came in and had nothing. all that being said, i now want to leave thompson in for the 9th.

go to the good relievers immediately and try to win this game or try to steal an inning or two out of the middle relief guys?

not sure the third time through the lineup against a good major league team is the best time to see what wicks throwing 90+ pitches for the first time in his career looks like.

i think i've seen enough of tauchman the leadoff hitter.

that should probably be it for wicks, though i have no confidence in whoever would be coming in to replace him.

i feel like ross gets too cute with this mid-inning pitching changes sometimes and they rarely work.

obviously he's been great, but man does leiter throw a lot of completely non-competitive balls.
