  1. 52 of his 82 pitches were strikes. not bad.
  2. i'd say the chances peavy is still pitching like an ace while being paid like one is greater than the chances of dempster pitching like an ace while being paid like one.
  3. slight improvement for hill, i guess. 4 ip, 4 h, 1 er, 3 bb, 4 k, 0 wp. 82 pitches, 52 strikes. two of those walks were back to back in his second inning. one of the hits was an infield single, and matt murton hit him up for a double.
  4. how can you tell from the picture that she's independently wealthy and into lazy men in jean shorts? i'd really like to give this a high score but i just now saw that you're mocking me in your sig.
  5. if this bowl season is half as satisfying as last year's michigan whooping of florida in florida, i'll be happy.
  6. didn't you pick penn state to win and cover the spread?
  7. no, but at least no one thinks penn state is a top 5 team anymore.
  8. ferentz kinda needs this.
  9. come on, give it to greene...you have three timeouts left. you really leaving this up to a guy named ricky?
  10. so what's penn state, really, like the 10th best team in the nation?
  11. hand the ball off, wtf.
  12. stupid braves, you're nowhere close to competing next year. just let the cubs have peavy already.
  13. so meph has stooped to drafting fake trade reports? my how the mighty have fallen.
  14. Knights of Columbus, that hurt. Great contribution to the thread too. Also, glad you could make the assumption that I've only followed the cubs, or more specifically rich hill, since 2007. Would it be better to have a huge freaking internet ego like most of you and just type that I know everything about rich hill, and for that matter, everything? you continue to get upset about people who are not contributing to this thread, apparently unaware that you have not contributed one bit of analysis/info yourself.
  15. he didn't have time to research farther back than 2007, get off his back.
  16. uh oh, jared leto may have a second wind...
  17. you know that part in fight club were edward norton beats the hell out of jared leto and then he just keeps punching and punching and punching until jared leto's all limp and bloody and they have to pull edward norton off him and everyone is just disgusted?
  18. i don't think many people thought iowa was terrible, except for overly-cynical iowa fans. it's certainly no walkover for penn state, but they certainly have a larger hurdle to clear before heading out to iowa city. iowa was terrible early in the season...no real two ways about it. of course they've since stopped playing christensen and they've gotten much better.
  19. if i've learned anything in this thread it's that kurt russell doesn't have a very impressive filmography.
  20. they're spread out over like seven years. and he's had a couple very good individual series. did he go from unable to hit postseason pitching in the '01 alds to being ok with postseason pitching in the '01 alcs to back to sucking in the '02 alds to back to being awesome in the '03 alds?
  21. sorry, but that list doesn't really bowl me over. there are too many crappy guys in the "good" area and too many good guys in the "crappy" area for me to put too much stock into that. also, guys at the "bad" end of that spectrum have had good playoff numbers as recently as this year (hunter, braun) and a few of the "good" guys (theriot, r martin) have sucked.
  22. see, there you go...unanimous board love for a guy that everyone should know is terrible. thanks for proving my point. VICTORY.
  23. because 1) he really doesn't swing and miss at every low and away slider and 2) throwing a pitch exactly where you want it every time is easier said than done.
  24. i'm so sick of this board and its undying love for joey gathright. everywhere i look i see people clamoring to trade for him, giving him mvp votes, etc. it's sickening...he had a 55 OPS+ this year...55!!! that's terrible. you guys are such idiots.
