  1. He'll have some big games if he stays healthy. He'll have some [expletive] games. Similar to 95% of wide receivers.
  2. meet in the middle at 51% and play some basketball
  3. I saw this a couple of weeks ago when they were talking about proposed changes to the CBA. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out, Booze. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7147880/nba-most-likely-amnesty-candidates Yeah I didn't think they would use it on Boozer this year. The cool thing about the amnesty is that it can be used during any time in this CBA (when accepted), and it only applies to contracts signed before the lockout. So maybe Boozer breaks down 2 years from now, and if he does, we can release him at any point. Assuming there's a season can we use the amnesty after the season is over and still get under the cap to make a run at the 2012 FAs? I don't think losing Boozer would hurt all that much but there isn't much sense is cutting him loose now if there isn't an immediate plan to replace him. I'd love to make a run at Howard. Who else is worth going after in the 2012 class? That's a good question. I would assume if you cut him before the 2012 season, that he would not count towards your 2012 salary cap. Thus, Dwight would be an option. Hypothetically speaking, if the Bulls somehow found a way to land Howard and cut Boozer, what do you do with Noah? I know everyone's response is who give a crap, but I'm just curious. Do you try to play Noah at the 4 or do you trade him for a wing player or a 4 who can play on the perimeter a little more? Noah is one of my favorite players and I'd love to win a championship with him on the team, but I'm not sure that we'd be able to create enough spacing with Rose, Howard, and Noah on the court at once (although is it really that much different than with Boozer). We would dominate the glass even more than we already do and Noah does have enough quickness to guard a smaller 4 out on the perimeter On a separate note, anyone hear any rumors of guys that may have the amnesty clause used on (if such a thing were agreed to)? And secondly, how would the salary work out for the team picking up such a player?
  4. and Mark Sanchez sucks
  5. If there's still a spot I'd like to do it as long as I can attend the draft. Saturdays generally don't work for me. Most Sundays do and weekday nights usually work. If there's space still shoot an email to mfranc3@uic.edu and let me know when the draft is set for and hopefully I can make it. Thanks.
  6. Who is Drew Stubbs?
  7. I have no idea what that last paragraph means and citing OPS with runners in scoring position over half a season is nothing but laughable.
  8. Just eat a majority of his contract and move on. [expletive] it, I'm tired of hearing about Alfonso Soriano.
  9. You guys really don't think they'll come to a deal?
  10. Notes and thoughts on the Bulls schedule: Mavs opening night (get to spoil another ring ceremony), home opener against the Hawks, Lakers on Christmas night, Grizzlies on MLK, Heat aren't here until March 14 and April 12 (play in Miami January 19 and 29), and end the season at the Nets (why does it seem like we always play them to wrap up the season?). During the circus trip from Nov 13-Nov 26 we will play the Wizards, Blazers, Suns, Clippers, Jazz, Nuggets, Pacers, Bucks. 6-2 record on that trip would be alright. We have a pretty exciting group of teams to start the season with (@ DAL, @ NO, ATL, LAC, OKC, SAC) before the circus trip. Don't play Boston or New York at all until February. Second half of the schedule looks more difficult than the first half. March 8-14 will be fun at the UC (Lakers, Knicks, Heat with the Jazz tossed in there).
  11. Why would we need them to be stars? What stars have we traded away?
  12. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AlTmbGsqI_omdGNw87d6HdS8vLYF?slug=mc-spears_derrick_rose__bulls_071111 You could tell has was gassed and not his explosive self in the Miami series (even at times in the Atlanta series). Maybe Thibs should have rested him some more throughout the year? His 37.4 MPG aren't ridiculous, but the amount of effort he puts into those minutes is a ton. He needs a solid number 2 option (Boozer).
  13. Perhaps tampering rules only apply to players that are property of another team? I really don't know. Seems awfully shady.
  14. Pretty much. I was hoping Rasual Butler could do that and we could draft someone more explosive offensively.
  15. LeBron stopper?
  16. To make it more wacky that pick was Miami's originally. So it went from miami to toronto (for bosh), to the bulls (for james johnson), to the twolves, back to the heat.
  17. Charles Jenkins or Justin Harper at 30 would make this draft perfect.
  18. That was very awkward.
  19. I LOVE the Mirotic pick. He's a stretch 4, which I've been wanting for this team for awhile. He would fit great with Derrick and Noah. 1.09 PPP in the Euro league at 19/20 years old. He shot over 40% from 3 in Euro and ACB leagues combined. With how late we're picking, this is about all I was hoping for.
  20. However, the revenue they were expecting is well under expectations (especially compared to the situation you're talking about where the Cubs are acquiring players at the deadline). Therefore, that money they thought they'd have may not be there afterall.
  21. He's so nonathletic and awkward looking. It hurts my eyes watching him play basketball. And as amusing as JJ Barea is to watch, he pisses me off by missing so many layups. He almost looks like Rondo out there.
  22. 1. I wish the Bulls would have gotten a game against the Heat officiating how tonights game was. That was brutal and heavily in favor of the Mavs. 2. The Heat's half court offense is so pathetic for how many great players they have on that team. I don't know if that's poor coaching or overrating of the players. 3. The Mavs need to shoot better to win. I don't want to hear about how good the Heat defense is. The Mavs had a ton of open shots and just missed them. I believe the same could be said about the Bulls series (outside of when LeBron locked down Rose in the 4th quarters).
