  1. You mean Jennings? I don't think he's too bad.
  2. Where's Lendale White gonna end up?
  3. What do the Panthers need another running back for? I know Davis is aging, but what about DeShaun Foster? He has his share of injury concerns. But if he comes back healthy that's two running backs that want the ball and are the same type of back. At least Davis and Foster were different types of backs. True, but I don't think you can rely on Foster to stay healthy for a full year and playoffs. It's a good depth pick for them, IMO.

  5. Mangold and Ferguson...nice
  6. There goes Lewis...
  7. Very nice. Marcedes will still be there by the time the Bears pick. Two extra picks. I look to add Lewis or Pope early 2nd. Moss late 2nd. CB early 3rd (Jennings, Marshall, Griffin) and possibly a guy like Rob Sims in the 3rd. Dont they have only 1 third round pick? The one they just acquired? Didn't they lose their third to get Manning?
  8. Well in this league, once the prospect enters the yahoo database, he has to be added to your roster. So he will have to take up a bench spot, but it's a pretty deep league (18 teams) with a lot of bench spots so I have some guys I can drop.
  9. I need a little trade help as well. It's in a dynasty league, which is why I'm even considering the offer. I would get Felix Pie, Joe Crede, and Wade Miller for Morgan Ensberg and Mike Maroth. Am i being a homer and overrating Pie and Miller? I rate Miller about equal to Maroth. I think Ensberg is the perfect sell-high candiate, but I don't know if I'm getting enough. Any opinions?
  10. I think you could have maybe done a little better. Haren is a solid pitcher and just got off to a slow start in the ERA department (he does have a 1.13 WHIP, and 21 Ks to only 3 BB) and Ichiro, although perhaps overrated, is still a good player. He'll get you a lot of run, hits, average, sb, etc, and he doesn't kill you in the power categories (15 HR, 68 RBIs last year). Patterson is very good, but he does have injury concerns. Youkillis isn't bad at all and neither is Walker, but I think you could have gotten a little more for what you gave up.
  11. Sounds like you definitely need to replace him. I kind of like the idea of the commish group, but you may run into problems if everyone wants to be in the group and you have to chose only 2 others (I'm assuming you are one of the three). You could just put any trade that someone voices a disproval to a vote. It's an 8 team league and the two doing the trade wouldn't vote, so if 3 of the remaining 6 or 4 of the 6 decide to veto, it gets vetoed. Or you could remain neutreal and say if 3 of the remaining 5 (not including yourself and the two involved in the trade). Just throwing some ideas out there. I know in my one league, I wouldn't like it if the commish and a couple of his buddies got to decide on all trades without the rest of the league getting an input.
  12. In the league I'm the commissioner of I just have a vote if the trades are ridiculous for whatever reason. Also, I think that an occasional stupid trade is okay to have, but you don't want teams to become very unbalanced. In one dynasty league I'm in, a few teams took advantage of the "stupid" managers and have teams full of all-stars. Then there are a bunch of decent teams but with no chance to win the championship in the middle and then the bottom teams are hideous. Of course, those managers also got tired of losing all the time with their crappy teams so now new guys had to take over for them. So basically what I'm trying to say is if this manager keeps making horrible trades, you have to step in and replace him/her, but if this is a one-time bad deal, you gotta let it go.
  13. All depends as to whether you think Church is going to stay with the Nationals organization, or even to that point, what the management is going to be like under the new National's owner. Also, do you have specific OF positions, or is it just OF? Obviously with the latter, Church's value is diminished. Its specific positions. LF, CF, RF. My RFs right now are WM Pena and Hector Luna, so obviously I am in need of a RF. WM Pena could turn out to be my RF of the future, but when Crisp comes back, his playing time will go back down to nearly nothing. So I'm thinking I might do it. I also made an offer of sending someone Buehrle and Giles for Jake Peavy. I think that would be a pretty good trade for me in the long term. I'm trying to include a prospect and get him to include Trot Nixon or Brian Giles so that I have someone to throw out there in RF.
  14. Well that previous trade fell through because he refused to include Hall unless I did it for Peralta instead of Giles and then he refused to include Sanchez and would only give me either Hawpe or Murton, and not both. But I have a new offer for Giles. I'm in need of a RF so he offered me Church, Bobby Jenks, a 2nd round prospect pick in next years draft, and Adam Lind (outfield prospect for the Blue Jays) OR David (?) Purey (pitching prospect for the Blue Jays) for Giles. I'm not really sure if I want to do it or not. I'm thinking to not do it, but I just wanted to get an opinion. Basically is Church and Jenks worht Giles? I don't think too much of either of the prospects (although Lind isn't too bad) or the 2nd round pick.
  15. Agree, altough I don't think much of Repko either.
  16. I'd do the trade, Shelton before the season projected to be a 300/30 guy, so from here on out he should be a decent lock for 300/25. Should have good RBIs, but will lack in runs hitting 6th. Either way, Nomar is an average hitting firstbaseman and is always an injury risk. Agree. No way you could turn that down if Garciapara is being used as your 1st baseman. I'm assuming the guy is hurting at SS or 3B and wants to use him there.
  17. Yeah, I pretty much agree with what everyone has been saying.
  18. I thought so, I was just worried about his slow start. I also have Stephen Drew in the minors. I guess I'll trade Giles and keep Peralta. I have TWalk anyways.
  19. Well I drafted Peralta in the 2nd round, so I'd say him. But then again I'm an idiot. I'm confused on the trade. You'd be getting all 6 for Peralta or Giles? Yes. I'd have to give him back the 3 worst prospects of mine (Michael Constanzo, Carlos Marmol, and someone else) and I'm actually including Jesse Crain (who has sucked very bad this year and just decided to leave off). So basically it would be Crain, Giles/Peralta, and my three worst prospects for Hawpe, Bill Hall, Murton, and 3 pretty good prospects.
  20. Which has more trade value in a keeper league? ON a related note...would you trade either of them for Murton, Hawpe, Bill Hall, Radhames Liz (prospect), Daiskuke Matsuzaka (prospect from Japan), and Gaby Sanchez (prospect)?
  21. 32.99. So, two bucks from the price I paid to sit 4 rows from the field. Awesome deal.
  22. Because the "common fan" hears Dusty Baker and company praise him for saving the team last year and therefore think he's good. They also see last year he hit .274, which they think isn't too bad for a backup, because they have no knowledge of OBP, SLG, or OPS and other stats that also show the true production of a hitter besdies batting average. Thats my guess, at least. I know I boo when Neifi plays and sucks when I'm at the game.
  23. Mariotti agrees with you. That would make me uncomfortable. haha, nice.
  24. Thats what he did in the first inning with Cabrera and Cabrera jacked it out. Yes, he has amazing stuff, but he still needs to be a pitcher. He needs to change speeds and location and keep the hitters guessing. Occassionally he's going to walk some batters, because he doesn't have perfect control.
