  1. Last year Vick was the number 2 rated QB right between Manning and Brees. It depends on your league settings, but with Yahoo's default settings, that was the case. Young could rush for 600-700 yards and 6-8 TDs (had 550/7 last year). Add that into his passing stats, and he very well could be a top 3 or so QB. That said, I wouldn't draft him. He's on the cover of Madden so he'll tear his ACL in week 2.
  2. I'll take WR Andre Johnson with this pick acquired from Wolf.
  3. ChiCubsFan receives: RB Ronnie Brown Wolf's next pick Wolf receives: RB Shaun Alexander RB Adrian Peterson
  4. Although I don't really need a 4th running back, I'm going to take RB Adrian Peterson. You can never have too many backs.
  5. LF Soriano 2B Theriot/EPatt SS A-Rod 3B Ramirez 1B Lee RF Quentin CF Pie C Soto Not bad. Buying low isn't something the Cubs typically do...would be nice to try it for a change. absolutely unbelievable lineup I'll wet myself if that is the lineup, though I think DeRosa has earned a look at 2B. I agree that he has. I'd rather have DeRo off the bench though. He can fill in for A-Ram, Quentin, Theriot, and when A-Rod needs a rest Theriot can slide over to SS and DeRo take 2B. So he could start 3 or so games a week and then come off the bench and be used in double switches a lot. He could probably get 300-400 ABs. Man...I would love to see this happen. If we get an owner that is willing to dish out the cash to get A-Rod, I think 100% he'll be our opening day starter at shortstop. I'd much rather have DeRosa's OPS in the line-up everyday and have The Riot coming off the bench. Even with a new owner willing to put out the money, A-Rod leaving New York where is now a huge fan favorite and coming to the Cubs would have to be consider quite a bit less likely than 100%. The Yankees line-up would take a huge hit if he left. Wilson Betemit is no A-Rod. Steinbrenner is all about winning and letting A-Rod walk would be all about money. When was the last time the Yankees let money stop them from overpaying for someone? And when was the last time Scott Boras went with the smaller contract? The Cubs new owner would have to be willing to outbid George Steinbrenner, and, unless things have dramatic altered in the Bronx, the Yankees still have more money to spend than anyone else. While it would be an awesome line-up with Quentin and A-Rod filling in the blanks, I wouldn't count on either. Steinbrenner doesn't have to let A-Rod walk...he can do that all by himself. If he wants out, he'll leave. Neither of us know how A-Rod truly feels, but we'll find out in the offseason. I think if the Cubs are willing to pay the money, A-Rod would rather play SS and play for the guy he considers his second dad. Quentin can be had for relatively cheap. I was just suggesting that the Cubs should jump all over him, not that I think they will. I'd say the chances of geting A-Rod are greater than getting Quentin. (Just based on A-Rod being linked to the Cubs/Piniella and Quentin never being linked to the Cubs)
  6. I'd like Ronnie Brown.
  7. dude, it is because you aren't there Seriously. Vance, what's the Cubs' record with you in attendance so far this year? 3- 10 for this year. :( Everybody has a bad season now and again, no? I'm 0-6

  9. Everyday I open one of these threads, Soto has a multi hit game. It's insane.
  10. LF Soriano 2B Theriot/EPatt SS A-Rod 3B Ramirez 1B Lee RF Quentin CF Pie C Soto Not bad. Buying low isn't something the Cubs typically do...would be nice to try it for a change.
  11. Quentin should be available in the offseason. Young, Upton, and Byrnes is going to be their outfield and Quentin is the odd man out. He'd be a cheap option in RF for next year. Not sure how his defense is. He's struggling with the bat this year, but put up a .872 OPS in 57 games last season and was a stud in the minors. The D-Backs are pretty stacked on the offensive side, so we'd probably have to trade pitching. Maybe Veal for Quentin? Maybe we'd need to throw in another pitcher or something with the way Veal has been pitching this year. Wouldn't mind Carlos Gonzalez either.
  12. We only have a month or so left. If you take 24+ hours for each pick, we won't finish on time. Nice pick with Ced...I thought he was kept otherwise I would have definitely taken him :wall:
  13. We need to figure out something or we'll never finish in time.
  14. i'm guessing a lot, why? Some idiot at work was saying a team such as this would go undefeated. We had a long argument about it. I thought it was interesting. The Cubs suck and I have nothing better to do than comprise a team of really good baseball players.
  15. How many wins would this team have? C-Victor Martinez 1B-Albert Pujols 2B-Chase Utley SS-Hanley Ramirez 3B-Alex Rodriguez LF-Matt Holliday CF-Curtis Granderson RF-Vlad Guerrero Bench-Miguel Cabrera Bench-Jose Reyes Bench-Joe Mauer Bench-Justin Morneau Bench-Grady Sizemore Bench-Magglio Ordonez SP-Johan Santana SP-Carlos Zambrano SP-Jake Peavy SP-Dan Haren SP-Brandon Webb RP-Joe Nathan RP-Jonathan Papelbon RP-Francisco Rodriguez RP-Billy Wagner RP-J.J. Putz RP-Mariano Rivera
  16. Nevermind. We can't even get a fake rally going. We suck right now.
  17. I have a feeling the Cubs are gonna come back and win this one. A-Ram is gonna have a big PH off the bench.
  18. Travis Henry, RB, Denver
  19. The Brewers will block it. How? We are currently beneath them in the standings.
  20. Soriano isn't really that good of a leadoff hitter anyways. Losing him sucks, but sadly, it doesn't hurt as much as you would think losing a player making as much as he does would.
  21. This is true. Losing just about any of the SPs or Lee/Ramirez would have hurt more. Maybe this will cause Hendry to panic and make a trade for Griffey, Dunn, or someone else that can hit.
  22. I could possibly see Griff clearing waivers. He's owed a pretty good amount of money still. We need a hitter now more than ever. If a trade isn't made, at least Murton should get a chance to prove himself to Lou.
  23. I also loved how they didn't realize the huge standing ovation was for the return of one of the most popular Cubs players after 14 months of not pitching in the majors. They corrected themselves, but still...Also, they didn't go to commercial break Sat night after Bonds hit 755 to show the crowd's reaction as he took his position in LF. Why couldn't they skip commercials or at least go to commercial later so we could see the ovation for Wood?
  24. But is that the result of them playing better or a result of luck? Certainly the pitching staff, or 12 of the 25 players on the team, didn't do anything special in June. And heck, even though they did much better at the plate than they did in April, and the runs per game average from those two months are pretty close. The Cubs were probably as fortunate to win like they did in June as they were unfortunate to lose as many as they did early on. I just said there was a correlation between wins and the tirade. They have won much more frequently since that date. But as Derwood mentioned, corelation doesn't equal causation.
