  1. They're not playing the Cubs.
  2. Misty Maes wife just hit a 2 out 3 run jack. 7-1 Fishies.
  3. I like Hoff, but the only way he comes up is if an infielder get injured. He doesnt have enough value to the team only being able to play first base.
  4. but Jon Lieber still managed to give up back to back jacks to Chris Sabo and Pokey Reese. I know, I know, it's getting old.
  5. The ironic thing about the John Lieber game up a home run to _____________ is that giving up the homers to Bako and Hairston is more pathetic than any of them. Even Augie Ojeda? even Bob Ojeda.
  6. Sorry, after 25 or 26, your status gos from prospect to career minor leaguer/fill in.
  7. but Geovany Soto might be on the juice.
  8. The ironic thing about the John Lieber game up a home run to _____________ is that giving up the homers to Bako and Hairston is more pathetic than any of them. What exactly about that is Ironic? The fact that the majority of the mentioned names are more likely to hit home runs than Babe Bako and Hank Hairston.
  9. can the Cubs really be only 2 games out by the end of the afternoon? God bless the Pittsburg Pirates.
  10. The ironic thing about the John Lieber game up a home run to _____________ is that giving up the homers to Bako and Hairston is more pathetic than any of them.
  11. Just win. or not. do whatever the hell you want. you get paid anyway.
  12. I dig it, however, Bonds aint signing for a penny less than 10mil.
  13. I know hes still injured, but whats his status? Any chance he could be healthy any time this year? Would he be willing to sign an incentive laden minor league deal? Just a thought.
  14. Or so Comcast Sportsnet would like us to believe. Im watching the White Sox pre game, as nothing else is on. Summary: -Cubs suck. They lost 4 straight series. -Lieber, Marshall, and Gallagher are the worst pitchers ever because they gave up 7 HRs -Gavin Floyd is God and will lead the White Sox to glory. -The White Sox are on their way up, as they took 1 game from the Twins after a 4 game sweep at the hands of the mighty Blow Jays.
  15. Bottom 3 Fishies-3 Beermakers-0
  16. Am I being overly optimistic when saying that its very Cub like, after losing a bunch of series' to a bunch of crappy teams to come back and beat up on a much better team? I remember last season, when we were at our worst, we beat up on Seattle when they were on their unbeatable streak.
  17. Unless the Astros start wearing Cardinal jerseys, they won't be above .500. And as soon as Sheets goes down, we just have to pray that the Cardinals eventually realize how horrible of a team they are. How does Sheets going down affect the Cardinals? If Sheets gets hurt, VJ won't worry about the Brewers. Thusly, the Cardinals would be the remaining threat. gotcha

  19. The Astros rotation is bad. I'm not worried about them. With Gallardo out, The Brewers rotation is just as bad. 1 ace, with a bunch of number 4-5 guys. Houston at least has a relatively solid closer. We have an uber-ace, 2 number 3s, and a bunch of 5s, and the best damn set up man in the history of baseball. As for the Cards...well, they're just an anomally.
  20. But the Cubs will still win two of the games. Its usually more the other way around.
  21. The Breers are just as hapless as we are. The Astros, on the other hand, could be a problem.
  22. The sad thing is, The Reds may wind up having the best rotation in the NL Cent. If their lineup starts producing like their capable of, as they did today, this could be a tough team. Or maybe Im giving them too much credit and The Cubs just suck. Its hard to tell right now.
  23. I can't wait until Soriano busts out with a 3 HR game. This guy probably wouldn't post for a few weeks. Of course, in Soriano's 4th AB, he could strikeout and CubsGM will run to his computer and post, "OMG SORIANO SUCKS HE HAS NO PATIENTCE LOLZ!" You say this as if he's unfairly criticizing Soriano. He's been awful all season so far. Complaining is more than justified. I know, but this guy complains about Soriano in just about every post. So the only Cub that can be complained about in every post is Theriot? Jason Marquis is also acceptable, and after today, Jon Lieber.
  24. This just in: While out to lunch after the game, Jon Lieber somehow gave up a 3 run home run to 73 year old seating hostess Ariana Flores. Flores has a long history of arthritis and a fake hip.
  25. Hopefully, the afternoons disaster can serve as a lesson, and they'l have all of tommorow to hang their heads in shame think about it, and take it out on the D Backs, or at least score a run or 2.
