  1. Had the last 2 games not began similarly, Id be far more confident. Keep pouring it on boys.
  2. Until Fuku came to town, I was hearing Ibanez rumors all the time. Id definitely take him. hed be a perfect number 5 hitter and we could keep Fuku in the 2 spot. I dont know what his contract looks like or what Seattle would want for him, and our wonderful GM puts every prospect on his "untouchable" list as long as they dont completely suck. I could see Hendry offering up Jason DuBois, Sam Fuld, and Mark Hollimon and getting laughed at.
  3. yeah its not like Floyd, Danks, Quentin were ever highly regarded prospects or anything Quentin was, but was pretty much left for dead by the D-Backs. The White Sox just got lucky with him. Maybe Kenny Wiliiams just isnt as crazy as people think.
  4. If Marshall does come up, I hope they have the good sense to send Gallagher to Iowa to start, and not send Ascanio to Iowa and keep Gallagher in the pen to collect dust.
  5. Is that more to your liking. Still, I find it absolutely perplexing that they are the hottest team in baseball. It wouldnt even bother me if we didnt drop 2 in a row, and surely they'll cool off eventually. I just hope its before we face them.
  6. Read the last stupid game thread, and if you read half the stupid posts, the season officially ended last night. The White Sox have won 8 straight, including a sweep of the Indians domination of the Angels. God I hate Hawk Harrelson.
  7. After 2 horrible games, theres no team Id rather face. they dont have the kind of top shelf pitchers like Sampson and Chacon.
  8. Seriouly, they have 5 pitchers that would be lucky to be 3-5 starters on most teams and turned into the 1990s Braves rotation They take a cast off from the D-Backs and turn him into an MVP candidate Jermaine Dye and AJ Pierzynski wont go away and they're doing this with 0 production from Konerko and Thome who are the only players on that team that most of America has ever heard of Somethings gotta give. Drop the damn soap damn you.
  9. They'll probably cheer since he'll go 1-for-12 in the series and they'll realize that he's hurting their biggest rival and still helping out the Cardinals. Yeah, the Cards' fans in my office are giggling over the fact the Cubs signed him....they are the opposite of upset. Maybe it will be like Sosa. While obviosuly broken down in every way, he'll hit one more meaningless dinger off his former team before limping off into the sunset.
  10. Not sure if your joking there, but I wonder if Hoff could do RF. I believe that may be the most likely next step. Pie's slow start at AAA isn't going to win him any early release from the doghouse. If Edmonds continues to suck, I could see them giving Fukudome some time in center in a couple weeks with Hoff getting some time in right. Murton and Patterson are both doing good down there, as is 43 year old "prospect" Andres Torres.
  11. Not sure if your joking there, but I wonder if Hoff could do RF.
  12. Weve got to at least try and stretch it out until we go to St. Louis in early July. I just want to see their heads explode after not knowing how to react. Then again, if he doesnt at least break the mendoza line soon, the experiment may have to be scrapped early.
  13. Fukuome is a top of the order type of guy, Soto is a heart of the order type of guy. Unfortunately, that decision is up to the guy who left in a rookie lefty as the potential tying run vs. a closer who eats lefties for breakfast, and not us.
  14. Capital! Pujols-ball-face-laughter. Maybe we should try that play on Valverde next time we play the Astros.
  15. Meanwhile, Sheets pitches a 1 run complete game and Bartolo soap dropping Colon picks up a win. Its just a matter of time before Hendry empties out the farm to give Trashel another stint.
  16. And not being able to touch Sampson and Chacon suggests no problems?
  17. I wouldnt want to be your dog by Memorial day.
  18. If I didnt know better, Id say I just watched a replay of last nights crappy game. This team needs a day off big time. So do I. I havnt seen this team quite this lifeless in quite some time.
  19. This team only has 2 problems I can think of. Pitching and hitting.
  20. And we all know the Padres wont be doing us another favor.
  21. Were really going to give this guy his first win of the season after Len and Bob couldnt shut about his lack of decisions.
  22. Hopefully Edmonds can take a step toward the Mendoza Line here.
