  1. Too bad Theriot cant bunt. Too bad Lou thinks small ball means getting Theriot, Fontenot, and Cedeno in the game at the same time.
  2. Yup, we're going to get shut out. As soon as Len and Bob said this game would be about small ball, we were doomed.
  3. I can just imagine the conversation between Honeycut and Kuroda and his translator-"tell him this guy sucks"
  4. Kosuke had no buisness making that catch. Still, if the offense cant get it going, it wont matter.
  5. Interesting... Um, maybe its because hes the guy hitting .158 against lefties.
  6. Why won't they be able to afford him? They may not want to pay what he'll get, but they would definitely have the ability to afford him. Its not a question of affording him, is a question of a team in a constant rebuilding process, would they rather have one star player surrounded by mediocrity, or would the rather exchange him for a stable of prospects. I feel this discussion comes up at least once a week. They can build a good team around him. They have some young talent with Salty, Kinsler, Murphy and a couple of pitchers. They should be able to get a handful of decent prospects for Laird, Bradley, Blalock and Padilla/Millwood. While I've never been a Bradly fan, I am beggining to accept the fact that hes a huge improvement over anything we have at center. Im sure we could swing a deal for him if it came down to it. Im not saying were in dire need and need to make a trade now, but if July rolls around, and Jim Edmonds is still struggling to cross the mendoza line and Reed Johnson hasnt figured out that righties are in fact hitable, Texas might be a good team to turn to.

  8. while I am well aware that hes the Rangers best player and making next to nothing, if we offered them a big enough package, we could probably land him. Unfortunately, other teams with better prospects probably know that too. Pie Theriot or Cedeno Murton(theyd probably want Patterson instead) 2 of Marshall/Hill/Veal/Gallagher/Samardzia/Ceda Sure, it would be giving up a lot, but it depends how badly we want this to be the year.
  9. Until Jeter gos to the Cards, Astros, or Brewers, I'll remain indifferent on the subject.
  10. It was ugly, it was nerveracking, and it may or may not have been deserved, but the end result is all that matters.
  11. If we do win this, I get the feeling it wont be easy.
  12. I guess in the end, we'll have to choose between ending Marmols career early or losing a lot of games.
  13. Hell of a game by Dempster. I wouldnt recomend putting him out there for the 8th though. Hopefully the offense can wake up and ? and Wood can close the door.
  14. Id turn this game off then. It has an ominous feel to it.
  15. Somehow, Soriano, Theriot, and Marquis would be blamed.
  16. OK, Dempsters done his job. Lets see if some of these other guys can do the same.
  17. If this game is starting to look familiar, its because we've seen it 4 of the last 5 games.
