I'd switch Sori and Fukudome, or bat Theriot-Fukudome-Soriano 1-2-3. I thought about Theriot at leadoff, but the way hes been hitting lately, I wouldnt want to mess with him.

When was he good? That one inning last year when he bailed I believe it was Kerry Wood out of a bases loaded 0 out jam. Remember that one time Neifi hit a game winning grand slam in extras against the Cards? I do. Dustys kept his picture on his nightstand ever since.

When all is said and done, if Lee and Soto are going to go into slumps, Id rather it be vs. the Padres and Dodgers than The Cards, Brewers, or even the White Sox.

Not only is he not walking at his old pace, he's not walking at a league average pace. I hope it's just a slump, but there haven't been any signs of him popping out of it. He's not even making a lot of solid contact. That's what makes it seem worse than it is, he usually will try to drive the ball to right field. He hasn't even done that in the last three games. The problem now is, with Hoff and Ward not around, theres no logical way to rest him without adding an automatic out to the lineup with Cedeno or Fontenot. The 13 pitcher move has ended up completely fruitless.

We've made this guy look a hell of a lot better than hes deserved this evening. At this point I'll settle for avoiding the shut out and hope the boys come out to play for Zambrano tommorow.

This really sucks for him. Heres a one time semi hot comodity that has been having big time troubles just finding a full time gig, and he finally does, and has some success and messes it up by doing we dont even know what. -
Is that a record length for fight related suspensions? Obviously, drug related suspensions ar much longer, but I cant remember anyone getting a 6 or 7 game suspension. How long was Lees for the Chris Young slap fight? 3 games, right? Hopefully The Rays will appeal and hold the suspensions until we play them. Edited: we will at least miss Iwamura in the Rays series. Sure, hes not Carl Crawford, but hes the type of scrapper that hurts us big time. Unless appealed, the suspensions will be scheduled to begin on the following days: -Friday: Crisp and Lester; Shields and Gomes -Wednesday: Crawford - June 13: Jackson - June 14: Casey -June 17: Akinori Iwamura Who knows, maybe Shields, Gomes, and Crawford will appeal and we'll miss at least one of them.
