  1. This team would be in real sad shape without DeRosa these past few weeks.
  2. What does the "pos" mean? Nationals + Expos Nice New country. Nice New city. Nice New ballpark. Same crappy old team.
  3. Marquis gave up a hit to a Natspo. Time to give Marshall his rotation spot.
  4. Its the Natspos, there not supposed to get hits.
  5. It would be Clement, but he would get the loss. Sounds about right. Where is Matt Clement these days? I know he had a hot streak with the Red Sox in 05. Last I heard, the Cardinals tried to rehab him this year, but I think they cut ties with him. If even LaRussa and Duncan cant save him, hes done for.
  6. Looks like we'll be playing to beak even the next 3 games.
  7. Yeah, wasn't that the game against Ted Lilly? Was that the Will Nieves game or the other embarrasing loss to the Natspos?
  8. It doesn't seem like it will delay the game more than half an hour in the worst case scenario, though. And most of it will miss to the west. Gametime delayed an hour, or somewhere during the middle? This means the offense cant do the wait until the 7th or 8th to score thing.
  9. IMHO, Jasons playing for 2 things the rest of the way: that elusive playoff roster spot and trade value for the offseason, because I cant imagine a 2009 rotation with him in it. Nothing against him, but all the sogns are pointing to resigning Dempster, Hardens back, and we'll have Marshall, Hill, Shark, and Gooz competing for that 5th spot.
  10. Correct me if Im wrong, but arent the Nats and Phillies the only NL teams we have a losing record againt this year?
  11. Its the Nationals. Beat them. beat them bad.
  12. Nice to see the Natspos with a win. I would not want a team with a 12 game losing streak coming to town. By the law of averages, theyd have to win eventually. Now hopefully they can start a new losing streak. As long as it gos 3 games, I could care less what they do from then on.
  13. The final score of 10-3 sounds like a single game, not a 3 game series vs. the Reds at Wrigley in which both Ted Lilly and Josh Fogg pitched. Why are you grouping Lilly with Fogg? Lilly is not a bad pitcher. He does give up his share of home runs. Hasnt lately though.
  14. The final score of 10-3 sounds like a single game, not a 3 game series vs. the Reds at Wrigley in which both Ted Lilly and Josh Fogg pitched.
  15. hard to say. i came up with a list of some "gimmes" for the top 25, given who made 26-50 and the honorable mention choices. Frankly, I was pretty shocked that David Price didn't make the top 50 - I had considered him a gimme until I saw that he was on the honorable mention list: Erik Bedard Clay Buchholz Matt Cain Robinson Cano Adam Jones Chipper Jones Cliff Lee Jonathan Papelbon Jhonny Peralta David Price Ben Sheets Troy Tulowitzki Justin Verlander 1. jose reyes, new york mets 2. david wright, new york mets 3. chase utley, phillies 4. ryan howard, phillies 5. hanley ramirez, marlins 6. albert pujols, cards 7. c.c. sabathia, brewers 8. ryan braun, brewers 9. jay bruce, reds 10. clayton kershaw, dodgers 11. tim lincecum, giants 12. brandon webb, d'backs 13. a-rod, yankees 14. josh beckett, red sox 15. evan longoria, d-rays 16. justin morneau, twins 17. joe mauer, twins 18. miguel cabrera, tigers 19. grady sizemore, indians 20. josh hamilton, rangers 21. felix hernandez, seattle other possibilities: corey hart, brewers justin upton, d'backs adrian gonzalez, padres aramis ramirez, cubs carlos quentin, white sox jason bay, red sox a lot of this is off the top of my head, so i might've forgotten a couple of people. Apparently, there was 1 vote for Corey Patterson. They dont say who it was from, but it was an anonymous major league manager.
  16. I wonder if Soriano and Ramirez make the final cut.
  17. It's just a slump, as I said on page one when everyone laughed at me. We'll be fine. strange times indeed, when UMFan is acting as the voice of reason. If were going to be in a mini slump, better it be with a team thats been in a slump for the past 10 years coming to town than when we face the Brewers or Cards.
  18. Cubs win! this being said, this kind of lifeless offense may fly with the Reds and Nationals, but if they dont get it together for the trip to Philly, it could get ugly.
  19. DBR Dickerson, LF Keppinger, SS Bruce, RF Phillips, B, Votto, 1B Encarnacion, Patterson, CF Bako, C Fogg, P Cubs Soriano LF Theriot SS Lee 1B Ramirez 3B Edmonds CF DeRosa 2B Fukudome RF Blanco C Zambrano P Maybe Lou should bat Z 7th today.
  20. Ned Yost still wants Sabathia to throw 150 pitches so hes going to have him pitch in a AAA game.
  21. That really has nothing to do with it. I think he finally adjusted to his loss of velocity and now is back on track. I agree. I think it doesn't matter to him if he is the '#1' or the '#5' He just goes out there to get a W for his team. I highly doubt anyone went up to him after the Harden trade and saidyou are now officially #4. there was actually a ceremony. Not as big as the one when Sean Marshall takes Jason Marquis rotation spot.
  22. At least they contained Joe Morgan. Nah, I didn't post his line. His HR is insignificant as it landed in the newly named "Morgan Basket" Rob Dibble got the save after Tom Browning loaded the bases in the 17th.
  23. 7. Bob Howry will do his best to blow a 6 run lead in the 8th, while Len and Bob comment on how cool and collected he looks while doing so.
