  1. That would have been a triple for any player that didn't stare thinking it was a HR (I'm looking at you Soriano) That was pretty much my point. While Edmonds doesnt have the speed of a lot of our other guys, he hustles.
  2. Just when my Edmonds love was fading, he stretches a double into a triple. Now for a lot of guys with twice the speed of edmonds, that would have been a double, but Jimmy hustled like hell.
  3. It must've been a pretty big inning for the opposing team if it took Wood 116 pitches to get out of it. I love how some people dont know a blatent typo when they see it. It was obviosuly Bob Howry with the 116 pitch inning. Lous plan was to get Bob to throw his arm out, so that he could DL him, and therefore get him off the team, but still stand by his word that he was going to stick with him.
  4. Whats more important than the shortest losing streak is how many of these streaks have they had. I cant remembe the Cubs having more than 2 3+ game losing streaks this season.
  5. This guy is not the ace that we made him out to be last time. Lets tear him apart.
  6. IMHO, Rich Harden has better stuff than CC Sabathia. The only thing CC seems to have on him is durability, and when you have a solid pen, its OK if he only gos 6-7 innings instead of a 600 pitch complete game everytime out.
  7. Austin [expletive] Kearns. The guys garbage for all except 6 games of the season when he turns Ruthian.
  8. So is "Feisty" Darren Jacksons nickname, or some bizarre imaginary friend of Hawks?
  9. So will this one end with a: A. Walkoff by Hardy B. Walkoff by Braun C. Walkoff by Fielder D. Walkoff by Hart
  10. bad game for the Brewers, good game for the Pirates.
  11. Whatever happens today, I just hope Capps throws a lot of pitches. I dont think weve ever gotten a hit off that guy.
  12. Lets see if Old Black Eyes can knock in the go ahead run for the Bucs.
  13. Theres no doubt that Bergmanns 1st base hit will come this afternoon. Hopefully its a bloop and nobodys on base.
  14. One of our pitchers need to put a fasball between Kearns eyes one of these days.
  15. You know what they say about Harden and 3 run leads. Funny how the cameras made that one look like it was going to enter the stratosphere, and it ended up in the basket.
  16. Funny that as hot as DeRosas been lately, Lou hasnt even considered moving him to the 3 spot for a few games. 5 is a start, but I know Lou likes batting his regulars in the same spot and plug in the spot starters, but still, DeRosas been on a tear.
  17. Always good to have your worst possible hitter bat cleanup.
  18. More like taking out a flock of mosquitos with a bazooka. Granted, it should wipe thm out wihout problem, but theres always the chance it could backfire and make a huge mess.
  19. We'll probably see Ward. I hate seeing Ward in there, but I think Lee could use a few days off even if he isn't hurt that badly. If we have to put Deadweight Daryl in the lineup, better it be vs. The Nats and with Rich Harden on the mound. Still, if it becomes an issue, it would be best to find a way to get Hoffpauir up here.
  20. That sentence is structured oddly. Are you saying he's hitting with a .143 OPS against the Nats, or do the Nats have a .143 OPS against Harden? According to the stats earlier in this thread, hes only faced 3 Nats hitters in the past, and they didnt do so hot, so yes, they have a .143 OPS against him.
  21. Win the game. win the series. win the home stand.
