The way the offense has been lately, Im higher and higher on the idea of aquiring Huff. I doubt wed have to give up anyhing of value.

If I remember, I'll contribute too. Actually, I probably won't be here for playoff game threads.... they would drive me absolutely nuts and I'll probably be sitting on a friend's couch or at a bar or something. Most of it isn't complaining about the Cubs. Most of it is people complaining about the complaining. Apparently you're not supposed to point out when they suck. Who knew? It seems that when the Cubs are stinking up the joint, people get a lot more irritated at eachother and over react not only to the game than othe posts. IE, the now defunct Cubs GM. Sure hes make his ridiculous posts, but I never thought that that was any more ridiculous than others flipping out every time hed type "ballgame". Sure, it was annoying and excessive, but the over reaction was a bit much.

I meant that in a literal sense, as far as game play. Not as far as meaning gos. Im aware that its essentially meaningless, but we havent been blown out quite like that in a while.

I know this is thrown out there a lot, but could this classify as the worst loss of the season? I mean the Nats. How many games this season have we had a 4 run lead and ended up losing the game? Not a lot that I can think of.Theres little doubt in my mind that the Cannadian Connection will come through this weekend and make the Nats look like the Nats again, so as long as the offense can scratch out a few runs a game, we'll be fine. The good news is, they scored about 2 weeks worth of runs this afternoon, so shouldnt be getting any more any time soon. Now some please start tomorows game thread and put this one in the past.

I agree with getting rid of Howry and Marquis. Its not just the fact that they're bad, its the fact that we have better options available. Marshall deserves Marquis' rotation spot, and hopefully Gooz will be ready soon and Howry can be disposed of. As for the offense, I think a lot of guys just need to pull their bats out of their rectal cavities.

and i never undersand how grown (?) men (?) literally act like five year olds denied a lollipop when their first place, slam dunk to make the playoffs baseball team gets behind 6-4 in the sixth inning of a virtually meaningless baseball game. yet it happens. Have you never watched a game with you buddies or at a bar, no matter how unimportant the game is and got pissed off when the team strokes it? It happens.

Without a doubt. Yes, how dare people expect to win a game against the worst team in baseball after leading 4-0. Ridiculous. feel free to fly off the handle whenever you want. don't be surprised when people say you're being irrational or crazy, though. So you think it's irrational to be upset about blowing a 4-0 against a terrible hitting team by issuing multiple walks? Nope. But I think people can be upset without being irrational. So how was I being irrational? Wow, Derrek Lee just missed 2 straight meatballs right down the middle. There was a time when Derrek was a very good baseball player.

We still have 4 inning left, and at least Lou may have finally realised that he cant win with Marquis in the roation.

Those Rich Harden and Aramis Ramirez guys are pretty good too. Oh yeah definitely :good: . DeRosa has had so much impact in versatility, defense and surprisingly great offensive numbers this year. His impact has been bigger than Harden for sure, hard to say if he's been more important that Aramis, but he plays very well in ARams stead. lol...Mark Derosa is a nice player, but to say he's for sure been bigger impact than Rich Harden is silly. Hmm..would you agree to DeRo as 'best use of money' by Hendry? He only has 2 less home runs than Lee.

Be nice not to use anyone good out of the pen. That means only Howry at this point. But at least he keeps his cool when hes out there giving up runs.

Fastball-Slider will get you through some 1-2 inning reliever outings, but hes going to need to learn some new tricks before hes made a starter.
