Did you really just try and show the team was slumping over the past 5 games by removing the 3 highest scoring innings from those games? I didn't say they were in a slump, I said they could be slumping, and with a horrible pitcher going today we should be able to tell. I know that was a completely faulty argument, I couldn't find a better way to express my gut feeling (which being a pessimist I should probably never rely on). In the admittedly small 5 game sample size I am referring to the team is hitting .239 .356 .377 .733. The ability to be patient is what separates us from other offenses (because all teams have peaks and valleys) which is why we've been able to have a couple of big innings to mask a potential slump. Just like with the Pirates, Astros, and Marlins series, the offense gets to take 1 day off as long as they dominate the other 2.
