  1. So is this ample pay back for the humiliation we suffered at the Astros hands last time we met?
  2. I believe the answer to this question is Carlos Zambrano. poll closed.
  3. Chicago Cubs are now 1-0 when Carlos Zambrano throws a FREAKING NO HITTER.
  4. Come on Z, finish off the bowls of this lineup. Make it happen.
  5. Good, I just want to get to the bottom of the 9th as quick as possible.
  6. 3 more outs big man. hes feelin it.
  7. There have been a lot of those loud outs the last 3 innings or so for the Cubs.
  8. Brewers have officially been swept. Complete game 2 hit 1 run game for the wife beater.
  9. Z pitching a very, very good game. Lets see if he can make it a very, very, very good game.
  10. This game is really confusing me. The entire stadium is in Cubbie blue, yet I keep forgetting that the Astros still bat in the bott half of the ining. I was thinking we were going to the 8th here.
  11. Later Wolfy. Maybe that little break was just what the Cubs needed, and that last thing the Astros needed.
  12. If the Phils hang on here, the worst possible ending to the weekend would be 5.5 back, with a MN of 9. I like it.
  13. Dave Bush is just one of those guys. While he wont be in line for any Cy Youngs anytime soon, when hes on, hes on.
  14. New look for the Crew today Hart Hardy Durham Fielder Braun Cameron Counsell Kendall Bush
  15. Well duh.....6 game behind the Cubs vs. 2 games up over the Phillies. Honestly, not wanting to play the Phillies in the first round, I'll be cheering for the Brewers the next couple of days. The question is then, do you want to end up with the Brewers in the second round if it came down to it? In a playoff situation, I wouldnt put it past Yost to go Sabathia-Sheets-off day-other guy-Sabathia-Sheets
  16. So who do the Cubs screw if it comes to this? Why do I put it that way? Remember how the Cardinals laid down for the Astros to screw the Cubs? Or the Cubs could just play the best ball possible and let who ever loses blame themselves. 8-) Its not a question of screwing anyone. Its just that that close to the playoffs, they wont want to play thair starters, and they'd be playing the callups an bench guys, and the Astros, fighting for their lives would be puttng up everything they have.Them again, what are the chances that it would come down to that?
  17. 4? Cubs/Astros Brewers/Phillies x2 Am I missing something here? Isnt tommorow a double header for us too, or is that Monday? Another thing though, obviously, there will be a lot of Cubs fans, but also, a lot of Brewer fans. It will be interesting to see who they root for. They'll probably be split on it. I was listening to their radio station this afternoon before their game, and the way they sounded, they were all about the wild card, and not even talking about catching the Cubs for the division. They were mainly concerned with the Astros, Phillies, and of course, the Brewers themselves. Neither day for the Cubs is a doubleheader. The third game will be made up at the end of the season if necessary. There is a decent chance that it could be necessary, for the Astros, anyway. It woukld suck for the Brewers if their playoff hopes hinged on the Cubs B-Team vs. the best lineup the Astros can put together.
  18. Vitter, yes, Ceda, maybe, Colvin, we'll see. If Jay Jackson keeps it up, he could as well. as for Veal, he is on the fast track to become a non prospect. Who knows, they may even chose not to protect him, and let someone else grab him as a rule 5.

  20. I was listening the 620 on the radio, the Brewers station before the game, and the way they were tallking, they had no intention of catching the Cubs, and were more worried about the Astros and Phillies. They essentially said that they should be rooting for the Cubs in the Astros series.
  21. Realistically, if all 4 games get in tommorow, I expect a magic number of 8 at the end of the weekend. 6 or 7 would be super, but 8 seems more realistic.
  22. Had Utley not been thrown out, that could have been a distinct possibilty.
  23. Damn, not exactly Manny Parras day, was it?
  24. Nothing like a #3 hitter OPSing .703.
