  1. When the Webster kid has you beat, its time to give up.
  2. If these millionaires are too cheap to get their familes somewhere safe before the impending hurricane, whose karma really coming after?
  3. I wonder if theyd give Shark a start if we clinch soon enough, just see see how it looks. I know you dont want to throw off his routine before the playoffs, but 1 start couldnt hurt.
  4. I really dont think we sweep, 2-3 or 1-3. While I am not scared of the Brewers for our purposes, I have a feeling that they may go on a nice little run and make that Wild Card race a tough one for the Phillies. The Brewers are incredibly streaky. Just when you think they've collapsed, they go on a hot streak. Just when you think they're unbeatable, they collapse again. repeat process.
  5. I don't know. He's a weird bird. The guy is as schizo as it gets. He can look abysmal against teams like Washington, Florida, Colorado, and the Giants, then dominate Philly and the Yankees. I don't know how his inconstency ranks with other pitchers, but you never know what you are going to get with him. Sound like someone we know? The difference is, Perez is the Mets number 3(or 2 when Pedros out, which is most of the time), and I speak of our number 5.
  6. The thing is though, do you really want to rest the regs for the Mets series? Chances are, we'll be clinched by then, but theres a good chance we'll run into them in the playoffs, and it would be nice for our regualrs to get a good look at their starters, especially Johan. Its been a while since weve seen him, and I recall he dominated s last we saw him some years ago.
  7. sweep of the Brewers would be nice, but realistically speaking, Im going with Sunday
  8. Not only that, but since labor day, and in the midst of the nightmare that was early September, the magic number has dropped from 21-6 in that 2 week period.
  9. http://icanhascheezburger.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/funny-pictures-mortal-kombat-monkeys.jpg
  10. So if we did pitch back to back no hitters, would the next few game threads be filled with posts like Kevin Tapani just no hit the Astros Paul Assenmacher just no hit the Astros Dave Veres just no hit the Astros
  11. I wonder if any of the Cubs helped him clean out his office after the game.
  12. Can we just take over Miller Park?
  13. Derek Lee with a home run? Bob Howry with a 1-2-3 inning? 18 innings of 1 hit baseball? Pummeling 2 pitchers who have owned us? What is this world coming to? The World Champion Chicago Cubs, thats what.
  14. Nice, D-Lee with his first Home Run since Zubaz were cool. Good things are happening folks.
  15. Pat Listach would be a pretty good choice for the Brewers next season. He came up with them, and a young manager would probably be best for them next year.
  16. Not really. How many times to you hear about a manger being fired, and then the team goes on a nice little hot streak for the new manager? Thats exactly what the Brewers need right now.
  17. My only regret is that after the game, Carlos didnt go up to Jose Valverde and do the cabbage patch, the robot, and the worm.
  18. Were still waiting on that offensive explosion. it seems like in each of the last few games, weve had 1 inning where we thought it was coming, but it never arrived. Obviously, we didnt need it last night. 12-3. Make it happen.
  19. Ask me again alittle ways down the road. Right now, the No-No is so fresh in my mind that Id find it hard to vote against it. When they're both in the rearview mirror it will be easier to chose between the 2.
  20. Here come another guy were due to get some runs from.
  21. You never stood a chance. I had my eye on it since the end of the 7th
  22. 4 game win streak puts it away. Not impossible, but I think its more realistic to expect it during the Cardinals series.
  23. Jeff Kent threw a no hitter too? I thought he was on the DL. and a second baseman. Thats pretty damn impressive.
