  2. So wait, if he just got in, then what the hell was he doing on the mound? Seriously, if this it was a must win game, maybe, but in this case, just give the start to Sean Marshall or someone like that. May as well have let him stay home with his family for the rest of the week,
  3. Looks like Alfonso Soriano loves him some Joel Pinearo. Unfortunately, I'll be at the freaking Zoo with my wife celebrating her friends birthday, tracking this on my phone. bah.
  4. Were a fickel, bi polar bunch. It changes by the day.
  5. I hear you, this is exactly what I was thinking myself. I don't dislike the Brewers like I do the Cards, so I do feel bad for their fans (Of course, I wont be losing any sleep over it either :D ) Cards fans are much worse, but I know my share of cheeseheads, and last year in the first half, when they seemed poised to take the division, they were pretty high and mighty, especially the ones who didnt know that they had a team before then.
  6. I didnt realise that Ray Durham left the game with a leg injury. Any details?
  7. They're facing a talented but struggling NL Central team trying desperately to clinch a playoff spot despite an injured ace and an underperforming supporting cast; the resemblance is certainly there, no? To the 2008 Cubs? Not really. The only part that's really even close about that comparison is the injured ace part, but the situations really aren't comparable even in that specific case. As I said before though, its hard to ignore the similarites between this 2008 Brewers team and the 2004 Cubs team.
  8. They're facing a talented but struggling NL Central team trying desperately to clinch a playoff spot despite an injured ace and an underperforming supporting cast; the resemblance is certainly there, no? If you're comparing them to the 2004 Cubs, well then yes, the resembelence is all over the place.
  9. Votto must really nthink hes facing the Cubs.
  10. Suppan makes short work of some guy named Rosales and Corey Patterson, who will be lucky to land a minor league deal next year.
  11. Jay bruce with a 2 run shot. 0 out. Suppan says if he cant mimic Zambranos no no, he'll mimic todays start.
  12. Joey Votto forgets for a moment that hes not playing the Cubs and hits a 0 out 3 run bomb. Good start.
  13. The Reds trotting out a lineup so bad that the Washington Nationals would say damn, thats a bad lineup. Cincinnati Hairston, SS Castillo, W, 2B Votto, 1B Cabrera, J, LF Bruce, RF Rosales, 3B Patterson, CF Hanigan, C Ramirez, R, P Currently Bottom 1 0-0 with 0 out and a guy on 1st for DBR
  14. The Cubs wouldn't like that, they have to leave for NY. Hell, send Casey McGhee and company to New York and then the starters the next day.
  15. Oh nice, welcome to the board! Tell Boers and Bernstein they are awesome, even though I'm probably the heavy minority on the board :) While I enjoy B and B on the way home from work, more often than not, it feels like Im listening to a comedy routine than sports discussion.
  16. Ive been hearing those rumors for a while now. Despite popular belief, I really dont see the Brewers in the race next year. Instead, we'll be faced with re vamped Cardinals, Astros, and DBR. The Brewers should be building around Ryan Braun and Corey Hart, and hoping for Gamel and Escobar to come along. If they were to aquire a pitcher like Cain, that could get them back in the race as soon as the next 2 or 3 years, depending on how Gallardo and Parra end up. I dont think they send Fielder and Hardy stright up for Cain, but maybe for Cain and a few prospects or a quality reliever.
  17. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080919&content_id=3508594&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb Man, the Brewers just cant win anything anymore.
  18. The ideal situation would be to clinch on that last home game of the season on Sunday, which is a distinct possibility.
  19. Im going to go with my theory that a big reason for the Cardinals downfall is that they spent all their time teaching their offense Zambranos every move and every pitch, thus owning him, however forgot how to hit pretty much every other starting pitcher in baseball.
  20. All I have to say is that if Kosuke was just some free agent we picked up off the market, and not the Japanese Phenom, hed be booed hardily every time he stepped to the plate.
  21. This is the most pumped Ive been over a game I didnt even get to see since that Rockies comeback. At least now I get to leave work and brave traffic happy.
  22. The thinking is that Ronnys bat could come in handy down the road.
