Going back to being Russell Branyan is a mid-.800s OPS, though. That's pretty good. I think the Mariners will end up trading Branyan, but I'm not sure they'll do it soon. Hopefully Fox will tear the cover off the ball for a while and, perhaps, up his trade value as a DH to an AL team. If he does, the possibility might exist of a Fox/something deal working. I wonder if Hoffpauir might have more trade value. Hes a lefty, he can play a good first base and hes beginning to play an almost respectable right field. Remember hes 29, so hes not exactly our 1st baseman of the future.

and then letting one the the very best pitchers of all time walk away Hey, wait a second, we didn't let him walk away. We retired his number, it's not like we had him for 2 pretty good years and a few mediocre-to-bad ones. Oh, wait. LETTING him walk away would suggest that he wanted to leave, which as I recall was not true.

Sounds like that team actually won something though. So no, it's not worse. Winning the NL Central is a lot harder than winning the North Dakota state title in anything. They might have been able to take it in '06 and '07.

If we can get a 2004 season, only hang on for the next month, Ill be more than happy. Much like 2004, hoepfully this 1 is complete with high profile deadline aquisition, only this ones worth a damn.

What do the last 100 years have to do with this one? Because Gabby Hartnett, Hack Wilson, Ernie Banks, and Shawon Dunston have contributed 0 this season.
