    Izturis is going to the DL and they're bringing up rookie sensation Gary Scott. I hope he lives up to the hype. He could hold down 3rd base for years to come.

    Im not going to lose any sleep over not being able to sign Pedro, but if we cant afford a prorated 5 mil, which at this point is around 3 millish, than were kind of screwed. Those monster contracts have really caught up to us.

    The sun seems to be starting to peek out, so maybe this one gets in. I hope it does, because Im very curious to see Lous latest lineup shuffle.

    It seems Teahen has in one way or another been mentioned at one point or another in 07, 08, and this past offseason. Nobody wanted him, but now that hes the type of guy we need, Im all for him. The reason that he hasnt been out there this season is because Alex Gordon has been injured, so hes been a regular starter, plus earlier in the season, the Royals were very much in the race, but nw they're back to being themselves. We could probably get him for a deal centering around Randy Wells or Kevin Hart and throw in a few prospects. Maybe we can get them to take Aaron Miles off our hands in the process.

    If we can keep 3-5 games behind over the next few weeks, and sicne our schedule doesnt look particularly challenging, ending the month with the Indians, Tigers, White Sox, and Pirates with a Braves make up game mixed in, I think we can, just before the ASB we have a 4 game series vs. the Brewers and a 4 gamer vs. the Cards, including a d/n DH the day before the ASB, and thats when we can really pick up some ground.

    Now that the Kansas City Royals are back to being the Kansas City Royals, I wonder if we can go back to the talks for Mark Teahen which have seemingly been sporadic since 2007. Hes basically a poor mans Mark DeRosa. He can be plugged in anywhere on the infield but short as well as some outfield. His OPS hovers around .800, and his 23 RBI, while far from impressive are only 5 off from our RBI leader.

    So were on pace for our team RBI lead to be about 75 at the end of the season. Super.

    With all the millions these clowns made over the years, if they dont have enough money stockpiled, they deserve to be broke.

    So fit the plan was to sign Holiday long term, would we be willing to part with Vitters in a deal? I know if we wanted to wait untilt the offseason, we could sign him without giving anyone up, but still, we sure could use someone like him right about now. Problem is, it would involve moving Soriano to 2nd base premanantly. Ive never seen him play 2nd, so I dont know quite how bad he is. Would Vitters, Marshall, and someone like Jay Jackson or Andrew Cashner be similar enough to the package that netted Oakland Holiday to get it done? Would it be way too much to give up? Maybe Oakland would even kick us another reliever like they did with the Harden deal. I hear they have a nice slider specialist.

    Its pretty rainly right about now, at least here in Skokie. Anyone know the weather conditions for game time?

    If we were trotting out Neifi Perez, Jose Macias, and Michael Barrett everyday, Id say to hell with it, but were not. We have the talent. Granted, DeRosa hurt more than we thought, but this team is still capable of knocking in 5 runs a game on a bad day. Our starting pitching is better than its ever been, and the bulpen is falling into place. The offense should be producing. I just hope its not to late when they start.

    So when are they downgraded from Cobs to Losers? Anyway, Z pitches a no hitter and hits a home run. Losers win 1-0.

    Id be all for it. Marshall would probably generate more interest being a lefty and having more of a track record. I know we could rely on him of rthe future, but next year, wes still have Z, Lilly, Dempster, and Wells. We could probably re sign Harden, and if not, we could find something else. Maybe Shark will finally be ready. Probably not though.

    Signing Pedro has a chance one way or another of strengthening the bullpen. That would help a weakness on the team (though a lessening one). I agree that the pen has been a problem at times, but not the big problem. If were going to get a guy who hasnt played organized ball in about 9 months, why not go after Ray Durham who we could plug in at second, and he can platoon with Font if not send Font to the bench where he belongs when Ramirez gets back, and no more of this Miles/Freel/Blanco/Scales non sense.

    Either way, after the last batch of "changes" the biggest lineup tweak IM expecting is Theriot SS Fukudome CF Lee 1B Bradley RF Fox LF Font 3B Blanco 2B Hill C barf. and even that will last about a game or 2.

    Is Fox that bad at 3rd that he'll need Font out there with him?
