I suspect, although I really don't have any first hand knowledge, that the court would have given the team some kind guidelines, or threshold as you say, that they can operate within. Given the pending sale, I would think that the court main concern would be that Hendry doesn't do anything that would negatively impact the sale price of the team. This is also what makes the current "snag" in the sale process so interesting. I can understand not picking up a big contract, but when were dealing with this kind of money, would soending say 5 million dollars really make much of a difference, especially if it was for someone who could help the team? Also, if were talking about someone like Mark Teahen, Russ Branyan, or Ronnie Belliard, theres not much money involved. Teahen for instance signed for about 3.5 mil, so Im assuming theres about 2 mil left on the deal.
