  1. Got to love those almost got out of it but not quite situations. And here comes V Mart. This wont end well.
  2. The walk machine with the bases loaded. Super.
  3. Nope, thats why you have to take care of the dregs of the other teams lineup when you can.
  4. As are Kosuke Fukudome, Aaron Miles, Andres Blanco, and Koyie Hill. Wow, its depressing that I have to list Kosuke with that heap of racoon feces. Your continued hatred (or whatever it is) of Blanco is baffling. He's a cheap backup, same as Hill. I'm not sure what you expect out of such players. Correct, Blanco is a cheap backup with a great glove and a nice guy to start once in a while, but right now hes a starter due due Aaron Miles suctitude, and thats what I dont like. He's starting because Aramis is hurt. No, Miles was starting because Aramis is hurt. Blancos starting because Miles sucks.
  5. Unfortunately, our pen seems a lot better with a deficit or a tie than a lead, so we'll see how this plays out.

  7. I do like that we have a pretty deep bench for late in the game w/ Soto, Johnson, Fox, and Hoff. And In think theres another guy on there, but I cant think of his name, so he doesnt count. Hopefully, hes not the first off the bench.

  9. please nobody tell Derrek that its not 2005.
  10. He can play two positions at the same time? The bloded suggests that hed be able to keep one out of the lineup at a time, and when Ramirez comes back, hopefully Font can do what he did last year off the bench, and whatever happens with the other 2 happens.
  11. On 1 hand theres the talk of no money for a trade, but on the other, Hendry has said that there very well may be a trade, but he has to first decide what the main need is. I think its pretty obvious that keeping Miles, Blanco and Fontenot out of the starting lineup, at least all at once, and Dero fills that need very nicely. I also read somewhere else that the Indians want a major league ready starting pitcher in return, and I cant imagine one of the interested teams offering up a better one than Marshall.
  12. Why do the Cubs insist on making complete nobodys look good?
  13. Don't forget who hold management positions for the Reds. They are big fans. There were teams that were very interested in him during the off season, and just because hes had a, shall I say subpar start to this season doesnt mean they still wont have some interest. Granted, we wont get much of anything, just hope they pick up a few mil on his contract.
  14. Were just going to need to hope we casn get to that pen. Be it Tohmo Ohka or Cliff Lee, Joel Piniero or Chris Carpenter, we just cant do a damn thing vs. starting pitchers.
  15. If Lilly can keep the Injuns in check, I get the feeling we tag Ohka for some runs. Hes Tomha Ohka. Theres a reaon hes been going from team to team trying to make a big league roster.
  16. It makes perfect sense. Miles never looks happy in the dugout. Ryan Freel has been doing very good in Iowa. Now dont get me wrong, Im not expecting Freel to come back and be anything more than Ryan Freel, but usually, when you have a guy on a rehab, and he has a string of good games, by now the answer would have been simple. Freel called up, Blanco optioned to AAA. It was supposed to happen a week ago. So why hasnt it been done yet? Could they be stalling because they're close to lining up a deal for Miles? Even if its for a Doug Deeds or John Ford Griffin type, Im all for it, especially if someones foolish enough to pick up any of his salary.
  17. That might be the saddest baseball quote Ive ever read. Seriously, just see what they want for him. Id sure hate to see him in a Cardinals uniform, which is a likely scenerio in the next few weeks.
  18. Aside from those 2 brutal St. Louis games, Patton hasnt been completely horrible. Hes walked his share of guys, but who on the Cubs pen hasnt. I guess Im saying is that if someone great came along in a possible trade, ld let him go, but theres really no reason to dump hi just to bring up Jeff Stevens or Greg Reainhard or someone like that.
  19. He is only like 33, and until 2005 hes traditionally heated up in June. Hes still got some good years left in him. However, if he does finish up the year around his career numbers, I wouldnt be completely shocked to see him salary dumped in the off season. I know he has his NTC, but it could happen.
  20. Were all going to be eating mounds of crow when Aaron Miles hits that walk off off Jeremy Papelbon in game 7 of the World Series.
  21. Hesa perenial gold glover and possibly the best in the game. Have you seen a Ryan Therit throw to 1st? Lee deservers a medel.
