  1. I suppose looking at Sanchezes stats, offensively, hes a slightly beter Ryan Theriot with a bit more power but less speed(but hopefully better baseruning instincts). We could use someone with a bit more power. Dan Uggla comes to mind. I know AVG. is a well over rated stat, but that .228 he sports sure is ugly. And is his defense still as horrid as it was lasy year? Wed probably have to give up a ton considering hes making next to nothing and under team control for the next 2 years. To bad the Orioles had to go and sign Roberts to an extension. Whose the joker who told them they had a chance to win anyway?
  2. I think the DFA is coming if he doesnt amaze in his next few games in the minors, and since hes Aaron Miles, I dont see him amazing anyone, anywhere. Maybe their trying to shop him around before dumping him. We can hope, cant we?
  3. Wrong Sanchez. Wasn't that Alex Sanchez he was ga-ga for? uggggggggggh alex sanchez. the cubs could not get him out for some reason. actually maybe that's why sunnydoo would have wanted him so much, he only saw him play against the cubs and therefore thought he was awesome. or more likely it's because sunnydoo was mentally ill. Nothing wrong with signing guys that we can never get out. If not, we never would have gotten Jeff Blauser or Aaron Miles. Im sure we'll one day end up with Nyjer Morgan, long after his legs have failed him.
  4. While ou piching was pretty brutal, Berg, Gaub, and Parker were all great as usual for Iowa this evening. All 3 seem major league ready, and Id just assume bring one of them up and send Samardzjia back to Iowa to get work as a starter. Unfortunately, our organization is dumb and they'll probably bring Patton back instead.
  5. Not to mention The Brewers facing the Braves with Vazquez, Hanson, and Lowe taking the mound.
  6. hopefully this will make his arm fall off. It will definitely put some big time PAP on Carpenter. Hopefuly Tony finishes him once and for all this year.
  7. next year is also his contract year, and at 32, he may have one more biggish contract left in him, so we could benefit from him having a big walk year next year.
  8. The Red Sox were at the point where they were willing to just dump the guy for nothing and eat the contract, so now, they at least get something, even if they likely still have to eat the contract.
  9. The names Ive heard as far as relievers go be it through the radio or internet have been George Sherill, Chad Qualls, and Joe Beimal. We really dont need one of these guys, and Id much rather go for Sanchez. Make it happen Hendry.
  10. Not a horrible deal for the Cards as long as they dont have send any cash to the Sawx. So does this spell the end for Khalil Greene and his anxiety disorder in St. Louis? If hes DFAd, do we have any interst in him? Maybe we can send TLR his precious Aaron Miles for him.
  11. I've heard that too, but it's just message board drama. Chris Duncan is the most hated player in STL with TLR a close 2nd. I would highly doubt that there is any truth to it. i seriously doubt that two guys who have been in baseball that long would be that unprofessional. I thought Ankiel was the most hated.
  12. Thank God we escaped that hell hole with a win. Now hopefully the Phillies can get back to their winning ways this weekend and start at least a 3 game winning streak.
  13. Lets not make a 5 run lead look any scarier than it needs to Gregg.
  14. As long as defense doesnt count as a hole. As bad as Soriano is in the outfield, hed be 10X worse at 2nd. If it was going to happen, it would have hapened a while ago.
  15. in play run(s)=Aramabomb? ETA: nope, aramadouble. good enough.
  16. There's no question we have more than enough prospects to get Sanchez. The questions are whether they Pirates will ask for too much and whether or not we have the money to bring in Sanchez. Jusging by the Pirates recent deals over the past few years, when they move a player, theyre not looking to piledge the other teams farm system, they're looking to dump some salary or move a guy whose not in their futur plans and get what they feel is a fair return.
  17. Well that could have been a lot worse. Now lets just hope they dont dig up Teddy Higuera to come in and shut us down for 5 innings.
  18. Pople seem to think that we dont have what it takes to get Sanchez, but when dealing with a team like the Pirates, they're going to value lowerlevel prospects, so I bet if we were willing to part with something like Tony Thomas/Wellington Castillo and one of our A or AA pitching prospects and then maybe kick them some kind of major league ready spare part like Sam Fuld, Kevin Hart or even Fontenot as a throw in, that could get the deal done.
  19. Now that the Buccos are out a first baseman, maybe we could package up Jake Fox in a deal for Freddy Sanchez? Obviosuly it will take more than him, but its a start.
  20. Because I'm pretty sure that Lou is in the early stages of dementia. early?
  21. Normally Id agree, but with Z on the mound, things could get real ugly real fast.
  22. And Im sure that Kasper will mention this fact about 13 times in rout to Moyers first complete game shut out since like 1992.
