I still have a little hunch that another deal is pulled off tomorrow for someone like Teahen or Hermida, or perhaps a righty, but I guess we'll find out tomorow afternoon.

Fuld isnt in Iowas lineup again, so Im going to guess that both he and Gorz are called up with Atkins and Shark going down. Im thinking the wait on bringing up Fuld is due to them considering a last minute trade for another bat.

Gorzelanny up Shark down makes the most sense. As much as Marshall deserves the rotation spot, hes been too good in the pen, and will ultimately end up back there when Lillys back, so why mess with his routine. Shark should be in Iowa as a starter. He sucks as a reliever. Gorzelanny could be good for a few starts until Lilly comes back. Unless of course the plan all along has been to flip Gorz for something else all together.

While Kevin Hart likely pans out as at most a #4 starter, I have little doubt that he will dominate the Cubs every time he faces us.

Now that the smoke has cleared, while I dont feel that this is the type of trade that will make us curse Jim Hendrys name for years to come, it does seem like the Pirates get the better end of the deal. They get a back of the rotation starter who will keep his team in the game for the most part, a potentially dominant reliever who could possibly be a closer 1 day, and whatever Harrison turns out to be. We get a loogy and a guy who may or may not ever make it back to the big leagues, but I guess time will tell. Im just relieved that we didnt give up Jackson or even Fox.

So in the grand scheme of things, we trade: Jacque Jones, Will Ohman, Freddy Bynum, and Josh Harrison for John Grabow and Tom Gorzalanny.

I actually prefer Marshall in the pen. Hes prett lights out. Id just as soon Gorzalanny take a start or 2, and Cincinatti would be the team to do it against.

Josh Harrison is in it too. I like Harrison, but not enough to make a big deal about it.

I dont like the whole something decent thing. Id give them 3 of Mitch Atkins, Darwin Barney, Tyler Colvin, Sam Fuld, Chris Robinson, JR Mathes, Marquez Smith, Rebel Ridling, Blake Lalli, Robinson Chrinos, Hung Wen Chen, and of course Aaron Miles for those 2.

I'd like Ross and think he'd be useful, but there's no room for him if Reed's going to be back in a couple weeks. The Marlins arent looking to sell. They're looking to move Hermida, as they were all off season.

All I have to say is if Gorzalanny end up in the rotation, Marshall will take up cat kicking as his new hobby.

I suppose that as long as we dont give up too much, this will be an OK deal, especially if Gorzalanny can someone get back to his 2007 form. Big if, I know, but still. As long as Jackson, Carpenter, Lee, Castro, Cashner and Vitters are nowhere near this trade.

totally agree...but i think they are targeting middle infielders currently Lee and Castro are MI I'm pretty sure that's what he was implying. Maybe Flaherty, Lake, or Barney? My moneys on Darwin Barney and Marquez Smith

Seriously, if theres any talk of Fox and Jay Jackson for Grabow and another reliever, we need to keep posting about it and hope it destroys the deal as it supposedly did with the Peavy deal.

Depends on what you want confirmed. Did some talking head on some sport show say, "we might trade Fox for a reliever" - probably. Is there any chance of us trading Fox for Grabow straight up? No, Hendry isn't exactly golden when it comes to free agents, but he is fairly good when it comes to making trades... If we traded Fox and Jackson for Grabow and another reliever, I'll literally throw up. If we traded them for Duke and Grabow, I might be OK with it.
