    To date? Maybe. I don't think they are going to be able to keep it up. I think the only thing that could slow them down is a Carpenter injury, which isnt thinking too far out of the box.

    But why Stevens instead of Samrdjzia? Why Atkins instead of Gaub, Ryan, Ascanio, or I dont know, anyone else? Is Gaub on the 40 man roster? I'm guessing that it was just a matter of (1) who was on the 40 man and (2) who had not pitched recently. But you know who would have been better than Mitch Atkins? Not Mitch Atkins. I suppose the fact that it wasnt David Patton suggests that theyve given up on him once and for all.

    Now that I think about it, its probably not even to get a fresh arm in the pen, but they might have seen something in Stevens delivery or mechanics and they wanted him to work on it, otherwise, theres no reason for this move. Freaking Mitch Atkins. I bet when he was called into the Iowa managers office he thought he was being sent to Tennessee.

    Putting 2 and 2 together, it sounds like Lee could be a Phillie beofre long at all. Does this drive up Halladays price with the next best thing off the market, or does it drive it down with the top suiter moving on?

    Valverde is great. I love how he gets people so furious. I just cant wait for the day we finally get to him. It would be the greatest thing the Cubs could do next to winning the WS.

    Cubs are Cards are the Central champs and Wild Card. Who is what remains to be seen. Both teams are better than the Rockies and Giants, and damn sure better than the Brewers and Astros.

    Soto starts his rehab assignment later this week. NOW WE NEED A COMPETENT 8 HITTER!! no, now we need a competant number 7 hitter. In about 2 weeks time, we can worry about the 8 spot, and I suppose the Font/Baker platoon is just about adequate there.

    Im starting to wonder if the Brewers are really that much better than the Nationals. The Brewers have a legit ace and closer, but other than that, the pitching isnt much better. They have similar lineups, with Braun/Fielder and Zimmerman/Dunn as similar 3-4 punches(only Zim and Dunn dont do that intolerable punching routine). The Nats have a legit leadoff hitter which the Brewers dont, and Guzman, Willingham, and Johnson are just as good a supporting cast as Hardy, Hart, and Cameron.

    If Sorianos going to stay hot and in the 6th spot, were really going to need a competant number 7 hitter if Soris ever going to see a good pitch again.

    so why is it if personal attacks in game threads can give you stern warnings, but clowns like this, who add nothing to the board but personal attacks never seem to get the old slap on the wrist? Then again, if I spent less time on my masters and more time being a "student law breaker" Id be better with trade proposals. I like your thinking. done and done.

    Could it be said that Carpenter and Wainwright are 1 of the best 1-2 combinations in the league? Maybe even a close 2nd to Lincecum and Cain.

    It sure would be nice if the Dodgers could do to the Cardinals what theyve done to everyone else this season.
