  1. My thoughts exactly. I'd be happy to have to face Peavy, or anybody else for that matter, in the Series. Not me, Ill be pissed if we are in the Series facing Jake Peavy damnit. Ugh WHY! Why would the White Sox trade Peavy to the Yankees?
  2. Yeah, their pitching is going to be a mess until Peavy gets back, if he gets back this year. Richard really hasnt been very good for them aside from the last 2 starts. They still have the same 1-4, and they can probably dig up a number 5 guy. Isnt Freddy Garcia still floating around their AAA team?
  3. I dont think the Sox are thinking short term. If theyre still in the race a month from now, they'll activate Peavy and go for it. If not, they'll probably shut him down for the rest of the season and try to get some prospects in waiver deals for Dye and Thome and rebuild next year. Of course alot of the Sox future rides on Carlos Quentin and Alexei Ramirez ever returning to their 2008 forms.
  4. I dont know much about Dexter Carter, other than hes not the same guy who used to play for the 49ers, but apparently, Russell was the Sox #9 prospect in 2008 and #7 in 2007, so isnt this essentially like the Cubs trading Jeff Samardzjia, Andrew Cashner, Chris Carpenter, and an A baller?
  5. Austin Jackson is very much not going to the Reds. Instead its some minor league catcher named Chase Weems.
  6. I know its 15 minutes past the deadline, but Im assuming trades pending approval from the commish can keep rolling into the public eye for the next few hours.
  7. We'll see, you never know if these are accurate or not. You mean we didnt trade Jay Jackson and Jake Fox for Grabow and another reliever?
  8. HAHAHAHAHAHA If true, Brian Cashman is an IDIOT. Probably not. Cashman reportedly hung up on the Mariners when they wanted Jackson for Washburn. Well, not literally hung up on them, but you know what I mean.
  9. Im surprised the White Sox are so quiet. They're a team whose very much in the race in a bad division and have obvious holes to fill. My bet is if they're too far back at the waiver deadline, they'll try to move Dye and Thome.
  10. heheh...wow $5 says Rolen ends up on yet another team at the waiver deadline when the Reds are 10 games out. According to MLBTR, Rolen still has to approve the deal.
  11. So Halldays really going to stay put, huh? Maybe if things are sprted out in the offseason Hendry can make a move for him.
  12. Looks like all roads lead back to Atlanta for Adam. I wonder what the Red Sox get, as they're not in the business of giving up something for nothing.
  13. By the time 3PM passes, every non #1 prospect in baseball will be on either the Indians or Pirates.
  14. I don't have a problem with Koyie, either. He's a nice, cheap backup. Had we been able to acquire Zaun for something minor, I'd have been all for it, however. Koyie is your run of the mill backup C. As long as Sotos due back soon, and hes supposedly due back Wednesday we can live with him for another few days. He is what he is.
  15. Irrelevant also, the Cubs are done guys - don't expect any more moves. Did you hear that or are you speculating? I not expecting anything huge, but still.
  16. I wonder how much mored wed have had to give them to get Duke or Maholm instead of Gorz. Would Jay Jackson have been worth it for 1 of those 2?
  17. Im willing to bet that the Brewers were 1 of the teams. Id very much not like the the Brewers to get King Felix.
  18. I suppose the Washburn trade is bad news for the White Sox. The Tigers already have a very good 1-2, and a decent 3 in Porcello, but have not had great luck with the back end of the rotation, so adding a number 3 caliber starter is pretty big for them.
  19. What did Jay Jackson do? I know he had a rough few starts, but theres no reason to set back one of your top prospects unless he did something serious.
  20. If they got Halladay, Id say they could get back in the race, but I doubt that will happen, and Doug Davis, Jon Garland, or Kevin Correia arent going to do them much good.
  21. MLBTR had this on the Brewers yesterday Still, I dont trust it and I wouldnt be shocked if they did something big.
  22. I dont know about much abput Luke French, but surely the Brewers could have matched that package. My fear is at 2:59, the Brewers will come out of nowhere with Roy Halladay or Zack Greinke.
